Really Andrew Ference? Your glove got caught up? Really? We're not quite that stupid!
That said, it was an awesome goal, and a helluva game. Seems like nobody can hold a lead this playoffs.

I thought that was hilarious. (his explanation, that is) Then again, I hate the Habs, and fully support giving their fans the finger at all times. ;D Looks like the Caps are moving on. Good first round, but they caught a few lucky breaks. They won't be able to count on coming from behind against too many of the other East teams that survive the first round.

Yeah, I laughed when I saw both the gesture and the explanation.
Based on tonight's game, it appears the Bruins have three goalies who could start for the Flyers. And that's not counting Tukka Rask.

Sorry, what are the Caps the champions of again?
Do not test the hockey gods. Seriously. Don't.
And since when is Ted Leonsis White Goodman???

Nice tease. Win two games in dominating fashion. Pull out a third with a great winner in overtime after getting outplayed in the third and for most of overtime. Send it back to Vancouver. Goalie issues. Then give up an early goal and do NOTHING offensively for most of the time, like you did the first couple games. Take a (necessary) penalty with a couple minutes to play, seemingly dooming yourself. Score a shorthanded goal with less than 2 minutes to play to send the game to overtime. Get an overtime power play, then do nothing with it. Keep making bad turnover after bad turnover in or near your own zone. Pay for it when a wide open guy in the middle of the ice beats your goalie to end your season.
DELETED. DELETED. DELETED. (Saving the editor the trouble.)

Actually, I think it's going to make for an outstanding second round.
Boston-Philly rematch after last year's (unfortunate for some) history making series). Caps vs. a division rival (though I was hoping for Caps vs. Pens maybe with Crosby, which would've been great).
Detroit-San Jose should be epic.
Vancouver? Who knows. I still think they're the best team in the league, but they haven't quite played up to that and Nashville is no slouch.

Agree w/you to a large extent, but I think we're looking at chalk in the East, and two 'upsets' in the West. San Jose didn't impress me at all in the last round against a not-full Kings squad. Add in the fact that Detroit's healthy and rested, and I think this series is over in 5. Vancouver, I think, was exposed by Chicago in the last round. Add to that the weight of Canada and Canucks history, and I think Nashville wins in 6.

I was just hoping for more upsets because 1) it's fun 2) it'd help the caps. Coming so close to getting to play Buffalo or Montreal ending up playing Tampa is a bit of a let down. That's all. I'm sure there will be plenty of good games in the second round. The first round was pretty amazing. 13 overtime games, 4 of the series go 7 games and 2 others go 6 games only Detroit advanced comfortably.

Speaking as a Flyers fan, you don't want to play the Sabres in the second round - a team that, ever since its new owner had done the best of any team in the league, with one playoff upset under its belt, would have been tempting the hockey gods.

whether he deserves it or not I'm pretty sure there will be a change of the coaching staff this offseason. That's just how things work these days in sports.
