I really covet Porter. I think the future for Georgetown's roster is 1-2 point guard types (Markel Starks), 2-3 Big Men (Lubick, Adams) and 5-6 players with length that can shoot, pass, and slash (H. Thompson, Trawick). I love these guys that are between 6'4-6'9, provide length on defense and can play both at the rim and outside the three point line. I believe that the Princeton system is at its most dangerous with these types of recruits. That's why I'm all over guys like Porter and Kyle Anderson. Their versatility makes them so dangerous in the Princeton system. It gives me a huge sense of relief to know that you are "all over" these guys. Thanks. hm

Rivals: "Porter down to two"Excerpt After being lightly recruited during his first three years of high school, the intensity has turned up during Porter's senior season. Of the final two he's considering, one is a team that he visited officially during the fall, Missouri. The other, Georgetown, Porter has yet to visit.
Not surprisingly, the current four-star prospect says that distance could play a big factor.
"I've thought about it some," said the No. 97 player in the 2011 Rivals150. "It is a big factor, whether I'm out of state or in state. It just depends on how close I'm going to be to my family basically."

Well, looks like the distance is a hurdle, but that if he decides to "risk" the distance, he'll be coming to the Hilltop!

I like how I copy/pasted a Tweet about Otto Porter and the name of the Head Coach at Southeast Missouri was edited.
What is Kansas up to?

Kansas has recruited Otto previously. However, Kansas turned their recruiting focus to Chol and Daniels. Now they are back seeing if they can get back in the game with Otto. I don't think they have any chance. This is really Missouri's to lose (with Gtown following behind along with Memphis).
Kansas might be losing both Morris twins, Selby and potentially Robinson (plus 3 seniors), yet they only have one commitment right now (Naadir Thorpe). So they are going to push hard for the likes of Otto, McLemore, Daniels and Cezar Guerrero.

Missouri out in front due to their style of play and location. Georgetown isn't going down without a fight and is apparently doing a good job pitching the program. Other schools are calling but it looks like it's just Missouri and Georgetown with Missouri firmly in the driver's seat. Otto Sr. doesn't know if his son will commit before the Jordan game.

Here is what I saw in all the videos. Kid has a nose for the ball. We need those types of kids. I think he could probably start for us next year if he can add some pounds. These long, lean rangy kids are precisely what we need. Sadly he plays the Mizzou style in high school so I give us a small chance. Pulling him though would be the type of shot in the arm we need. We need to win a recruiting battle out of state with a kid who is thought to be a lean to his home state school.

Despite the loss, today would have been a great day for bringing recruits. Almost full house, loud, Alonzo, Clinton, families together with their seniors, etc.

There was one kid behind the hoya bench who looked really young and at least 6'7" wearing a gray sweatshirt hoodie. Anyone know who that was?

Is Otto even realistic at this point? Has he given any real indication he will not be attending Mizzou next season? I am thinking our time should be spent elsewhere. Coming to DC is a HUGE difference from staying local and the kid seems to even fit Mizzou better. From his standpoint, I just do not see any reason for this to be dragging on.

It is not realistic until he visits Gtown. If he visits we have a chance.

He needs to put on weight, but not that much as a 3. He'll be a slasher/jump shooter primarily. His length and tenacity going inside is impressive. Seems relentless. He'll be wiry strong and I'm good with that.
