No way Nate does not get a lot of time. He brings energy and toughness. He will be in the rotation as long as he is here. Surely he will get better as his father is a coach. He knows what he needs to do. As for a starting backcourt of Clark and Hollis.......that is a disaster waiting to happen. Not to be too critical TC but our womens team might just press that grouping off the court.Porter may have the best handle of them all. This talk of Hollis playing a lot a the 2 is just as crazy heck he was 4th option to get the ball under any kind of serious press all year. I've consistently criticized JCs game for well over a year but you either start him at the 2 and see if he can find his shot and can provide an improvemnt on D. Contrary to what mnay here projected i think the one that will be realy pressed for playing time will be nate. If he returns next year without an outside shot and fails to add little more strength and quickness he may not get the kind of minutes henry got this year.

I love the idea of Hollis playing the 2, but that just can't happen with Clark at the point for extended minutes.
Trying to predict the rotation this year is essentially a guessing game beyond the first 3 or 4 guys. We haven't seen real game action from ~ half this team with 5 freshmen + Bowen/Moses. All of the freshmen seem to have great potential and I am really optimistic about them, but none of them are 100% surefire rotation guys either, maybe with the exception of Porter. There will be a lot of PT to be earned in practice - will be interesting to see who steps up.

A Clark Hollis backcourt might set an NCAA record for turnovers.

Here's the problem as I see it : Whittington and Porter are likely the most talented additions in this class and they have to see floor time next year. If Hollis sees time at the three, it'll come at the expense of Whittington and Porter OR Whittington or Porter will have to play out of position and they'll be exposed to stronger power forwards that rebound better and be forced into the blocks - sort of like Dajuan Summers. Hollis should be playing the 2 anyway, because if he's going to be a pro that's where he'll slot in.

You're not suggesting that we put his interests above the team by saying "Hollis should be playing the 2 anyway, because if he's going to be a pro that's where he'll slot in."

Probably not doing that given that I wrote a whole paragraph above that about how the 3 should be occupied by Whittington and Porter.

A bit early for potential post-season nicknames for the kid (no pressure!), but should he have success in the NCAAs: Otto Von Bis-MARCH!

Well, if "Bubba" is okay by him, maybe he'll accept my calling him "Opie".

"Basically they want me to bring us a national championship," Porter said.
"They also see me -- how I play and how I fit into their program with the other freshmen that's coming in," the 6-foot-9 forward added, saying that the Georgetown staff sees him as, "just a great player that knows how to play the ballgame basically."
I remember Green and Hibbert saying something along those same lines when they signed and they took team to a Final Four game. Nice to see that JT3 has recognised that his system is great but you need talented bigs down low to get back there and win the whole thing. Notice he says that the staff liked how he fitted in with the other freshmen coming in instead of team. I see this young man and possibly another frosh(Adams) in the starting lineup before the BE schedule starts.

Can we change the title of this thread to indicate that he has signed as a Hoya?

"Porter, who is on pace to be the salutatorian of his class, plans to study mechanical engineering." Bold = Awesome Italics = Uhm....I don't think we have that major.

Its a common thing Columbia does with a lot of Universities that don't have engineering program.
Real fun.
