Not time to panic-it's time to do something about it and get some damn good/great players into the program.

I think this proves that losing your lead recruiter mid-way through the process unforunately can significantly impact a program's ability to sign its top targets.
But I don't think this spells doomsday. There is plenty of time to re-group.
JTIII has a very good track record of signing top talent in the last 5-6 classes (Wallace, Sapp, Summers, Macklin, Wright, Freeman, Clark, Monroe, Markel, Bowen, Lubick). I'm not as concerned as other as to JTIII's ability to land talent.
It's just that we have been thrown a serious curve ball and we need to adjust on the fly. It could end up that 2011 turns out to be a lost cause, but we do have time to re-group - the new Kirby dude from Mississippi needs to start pulling out some rabbits quickly.

If you're coming to the KL playoffs tonight, don't bring your kids.
I'm on a mission.

Agree, Kirby can still turn this into a silk purse, but the pressure is on.

Losing three starters, and no recruits at the moment i think it's time to worry. Looking at Rivals top 150 for 2011 i think only a couple of the players that have GTOWN listed are seriously considering GTOWN. Hopefully, Kirby has some connections and can come through.

I see that we have 3 kids from Mississippi looking at us, so that cannot be a coincidence. I am assuming Kirby will land one of these guys, hopefully JOB, but at this point all three are 3-star or better so I will take any of them!

Ross is not interested in G'Town. listed top 5 and we're not on it.
4 from Miss that we're involved with..
- JOB - Hood - Mychal Ammons - Derrell Robertson

Not getting JOB/Hood and getting Ammons or Robertson doesn't do that much for us. This is looking to be a disastrous recruiting class at this point. In all honesty, it might be time to start spending significant time on the class of 2012 top targets as it looks like our chances for any game changers in 2011 are very slim at this point. Could be a year to save some schollies and try to load up in 2012.

We will land at least 1 top 50 type talent. my promise to hoyatalk. Sure I have no control over it, but I'm an optimist.

A team can never have enough 6-10 kids with 35+ vertical leap and 7-6 wingspans in my opinion. If it were my choice I'd offer Bishop Daniels and Robertson tomorrow bringing in two freakish atheletes would improve practice at least.. LOL!! I'm serious though, we've seen the "hold scholarship for next year" game play out a lot lately and it hasn't worked out well..

Hope I'm wrong. I'd take Robertson but would think long and hard about taking Daniels. Just don't see the immediate need at that position for a short guy who's an athlete but is weak at the basic guard skills (handling/shooting).
