If dude is a knock-down shooter, I'd be happy to have him. Under III, the best guards we've had have been the ones who have been able to consistently knock down the outside shot... Agree.

You can never have enough shooters, ask Calipari and Kentucky!
Hopefully we get this kid and he is a great shooter and hard worker, you cannot have enough of those two things in a program IMO. I get the whole athlete, length argument, but I also know our offense works like magic when we are making shots.

Sorry KC, we all don't remember all of NCAA's rules and regulations like you . But hey, at least I wasn't the second person to ask in the thread, this time around. ;D

Any more feedback on Heslip and/or his visit last week?

Any more feedback on Heslip and/or his visit last week? He said he had a good couple of days in DC on his twitter account. I can't get a quote from work (no twitter access) but the link is on p3 of this thread.

Should know soon...doesn't seem to pass the "look" or "need" test to me. I generally will just trust the staff but it's tough when the new staff at BC, facing an empty cupboard, told the kid they didn't need/want him.

And after seeing this kid currently right now for the 3rd time...fanbase would have been wrong...That kid is a flat out knockdown shooter...could have really used him, he is open when he crosses halfcourt, unbelievable range. He starts and plays a bunch of minutes for Baylor.

He's definitely a player, lights out shooter and plays good D. Would have been a serious asset at GU, hindsight being 20/20 of course.

Heslip has been a knock down shooter so far this year. Any team could use a guy like that.

Good call by our staff to follow this guy... We're recruiting all over the place, but not everyone can come. I was very impressed last night.

Man, Heslip is so unathletic he definitely can't compete with DI talent. We would have been so unhappy with him as a Hoya.
Score one for the "athleticism is everything!" crowd.

When you surround someone like Heslip who can knock down 3s with long, athletic wings, it makes for a strong team. Baylor is scary right now. That being said, we need to find that 3 point shooter that can really make us more versatile in the coming years. To be honest, I felt like Myles Davis would have been a great answer. I haven't heard phenomenal things about DSR's three point stroke. We definitely need a shooter, with Jason and possibly Hollis on the way out. Maybe Domingo.

Since you brought up the "athleticism" crowd SF... Does anyone know where Bronxito and his supreme basketball knowledge has been?

For the most part I agree with your posts but I've always thought that this was by far your most off base observation. Georgetown's offense always needs shoots to spread the floor. Heslip again is tearing it up.
