When is the earliest this potential random dude can lace 'em up?

Unless we expect his career path to involve a broom or a paper hat, let's squelch the references to any Orangeboys. If we are on this kid, Coach thinks we can use his skills, that's good enough for me. And if he can shoot, you can never have too many shooters.

I don't care if he comes or not, I just care if he is using a scholarship. If he wants to walk on and hope to earn one eventually (due to early defection), thats great. If he wants a scholarship, I think we should wait and save it on someone younger

People seem to value scholarships more than actual players. Every year it is 'save the ship for 20xx'. When was the last time we didn't have a scholarship for a player we really wanted? When was the last time we had a stunning lack of depth?
That said, I know nothing about this player and have no idea if he would help.

When was the last time we had a stunning lack of depth? When was the last time we gave regular minutes to ten or more players? Forever? So what would be the point in adding a low profile guard when the guard position will already be Gtown's deepes tposition and greatest strength next season? You want to give him a schollie so he can sit on the bench all year?

Didn't Reynolds want to come here? The hoyas didn't have a spot. Of course a few weeks later Thornton transfered. So it does happen

If he wants a scholarship, I think we should wait and save it on someone younger how many times does this have to be explained? A scholarship player cannot be a walk on when he transfers. Can we stop with this nonsense on every potential recruit?

The last thing this program needs is another damn little guard who is unathletic and slow.
The team needs to get more athletic --which leads to better defense. They also need to get taller and more skilled--but that's only if they ever plan on winning something of importance again.

can you tell from the video clip that he's slow? He looks like he can shoot lights out (I know they are not showing his misses). Our guard situation gets thinner in a year and again in 2 years You never know whose goin to be DA MAN! I like players who like us.

I am not a fan of the Hoya backcourt now in terms of their lack of athleticism, height, and defensive weaknesses--and Heslip wasn't going to play at Boston College--he sure as hell wouldn't play at Georgetown.

I like players who like us. I'm sure there are seniors who barely get off the bench for their high school teams who like the Hoyas too. Thankfully that admiration for Gtown is not the criteria for offering scholarships.

the last time I looked nobody said nothin about Brady not getting off the bench as a senior and nobody said it was a criteria for a scholarship but merely that I like players who like us

This is my point - if someone thinks he is too slow, too small, has a bad handle, can't shoot, etc. then that is cool. I have no problem with that. As I wrote, I don't know anything about Brady, so if someone doesn't think he'll help the team, that is a valid position (even better if its based on something). I'm not suggesting taking a guy because he thinks we are swell, mentions us in an article, or anything like that.
What grinds my gears is that there are people that seem like they would prefer us never take a guy, so they can talk about the next year and how many guys we are "on." Its always next year. Next years class is amazing. We are on 10 top 20 players. We are on 15 players lists. Imagine the recruiting class if we got x, x and x. Reality check - we are not Kentucky. We'll likely get one of these five star guys if we are lucky and round out the class with others.
And as far as guard depth, we are fine next year but we are losing two guards after next year. We currently have two guys, a freshman and sophomore, that are promising but nothing more than that and Jason Clark. So I don't think its ridiculous to look at a guard now.

Wallace wasnt unathletic; he played 3 sports in hs. He wasn't the quickest dude, but was very athletic. 6'1 isnt little either. Anyway, there are other more viable options, imo, in th 2011 class.

Wallace played on a BIG team smart ass--and that's the problem. If you add another small guard to a small team--WTF is the point? Seriously--some of you guys think it's a pickup game at a health club and slow/small teams who dont' play defense don't win games. In case you've not watched the "Small Ball" approach the past 2 years.

According to the article, Georgetown called Heslip and asked to set up a visit. Sounds like JTIII and the staff like the kid. That's good enough for me.

The results with small ball are NOT good enough for me and it's been a total failure, so if this is the direction of the program, then best to prepare for going back to days of not mattering to anyone other then Hoya fans.
