Bronxitos is well respected in these parts for his bball acumen. Can you say the same dear lad? As a matter of fact the Bronxito has never heard of you. youre a huge loser, i hope you realize that... your opinion is stupid. you talk about yourself in the third person....what?

Your words have moved Bronxie to a dry cry....even tears. Even his heart cries....but who cares? His only retort a ti is, perhaps Dr. Bronxito is a loser but his bball acumen is above reproach. That is the only thing that matters on this board dear boy. Bronxitos is well respected in these parts for his bball acumen. Can you say the same dear lad? As a matter of fact the Bronxito has never heard of you. youre a huge loser, i hope you realize that...

I prefer York and type of guards like him over guards like Smith Rivera--but as a Georgetown fan--I realize the program can't be too picky--it's nothing special.

Yikes! These next 2 years if we get the right kids we can make a huge move. 2012 is just a make the tourney year......2013 with addition of the right kids is a dominant year. Only 2 things missing.....quick PG and a post player who can give you 14 and 8 from Day 1. Luckily 2012 is filled with great post players. We have to get one! I prefer York and type of guards like him over guards like Smith Rivera--but as a Georgetown fan--I realize the program can't be too picky-- it's nothing special.

Saw Smith-Rivera play twice on 2 different days at the EYBL in Dallas last weekend. He plays on the Spiece Team out of Indiana. To say that I was impressed with him would be understating things - a lot! His listing at 6'3", 205 lbs, is legit. He has a big, powerful body that he uses to his advantage. The former Hoya he reminds me most of is Demetrius Hunter. Doesn't have quite the hops that DH had, but then, who does? He showed great shooting ability (and form) both from mid-range and the 3-ball. He also took it to the hole with authority , again using his body, and either making the layup or drawing the foul. Good free throw shooter with great rotation. Also had a couple of nice assists. Played really good defense against one of Team Texas' best players. I think what impressed me the most about him was his demeanor and leadership. Always under control, always talking to his teammates on the floor or in the huddle. At the end of a close game, he just took over, handled the press well, and made his free throws. Would be a great player for our system, can play either point or 2-guard in my view.

Thanks for recap Friscotxhoya! Did you see any other teams/players and if so--feel free to start a seperate thread/recap the thoughts you had from watching--and don't worry about giving your take--nobody is going to criticize your viewpoint on players--it's what you saw and you were there--so appreciated.

Found this on Yahoo describing Smith-Rivera's play last weekend: "Smith-Rivera continues to impress. He moves seamlessly between both guard positions, and has a fearlessness to his game. His command of the game and his physical attributes indicate that he will be playing productive basketball for years to come."

We could use a good thread of scouting reports of potential recruits during what's otherwise a pretty dead period.

going to Oak Hill next year. This recruitment is over--onto the next one. Why's that RDF? Does G'town have a bad/non-existent releationship with Oak Hill too? The kid really seemed to like G'town also..

I get we don't have a great relationship with Oak Hill or Montrose Christian. But why is the recruitment automatically over? Does a high school coach they've only known for a a year really have that much influence? Or is it that going there means they've already decided they're not going to Georgetown? Seems a bit weird to me why that would be the case. I'm not saying you're wrong. History has shown this is most likely true. I'm just curious as to the reason.

Let's just say the sharks circle and Georgetown doesn't throw chum in the water.

DSR listed UCLA, Hoyas, Texas Xavier and Louisville as his top 5, acc to ESPNRise. According to Jerry Meyer today: He did reveal to Rivals.com that Xavier, Texas, Georgetown and UCLA standout because they are recruiting him the hardest.

I don't disagree ID, but Meyer's top four are 4 of the top 5 mentioned in the ESPN link you provided a couple weeks back.

I didn't mean specifically biased about DSR; was just voicing my displeasure about the way he does his job.

Update from Jeff Borzello at CBS has no change to the previous top five. But it sounds like that is the final list. DSR says he wants to decide at the end of the summer
