This was evident from D S-R's tweets about his recent visit, but someone on the Rivals main recruiting message board who seems to know him/his family posted in the last couple of days that D S-R was "blown away" by his trip to visit Georgetown.

Not really an ouch. Don't think we offered and didn't seem to be a priority. He was more interested in us than we were interested in him and don't get the feeling we showed him much love.

"Smith-Rivera said Xavier's system and style of play were the determining factors. Wake Forest and Georgetown were also near top."
sounds like we might've been able to get him if we showed him the love/offered since we were near the top with out doing so.
Xavier was on him the hardest and were constantly showing him love so it makes sense surprised he popped so soon, but if it was going to be early it was going to be xavier.

The sky is falling!! One of 30 kids who had listed us signed someplace else. The end of the world is at hand.

Good to see a recruit that highly regarded commit early to a non-BCS school. Congrats to Xavier.

Good to see a recruit that highly regarded commit early to a non-BCS school. Congrats to Xavier. Yep, this is what struck me the most as well - always good to see a non-BCS team pull in talent. Xavier also just got a verbal from Michael Chandler, the former Louisville Big Man commit and who listed us for a little while. They could be very, very good soon as they have gotten a couple other blue chippers too. Indiana needs to be worried, as they're starting to poach guys from their state.

Do we know that III didnt offer him? Hard to believe he would say we near the top without an offer, jussayin.. In every recent update it's repeatedly said everyone has offered except for Georgetown. That's good enough for me.

this kid was out of the circuit this summer...he was hurt...not many people got to see and evaluate him. I'm actually surprised he committed early anywhere as he prob didn't have many "offers" this is a '12 kid not an '11 remember. He visited us once unofficially....as it should as a junior.....There was a lot of time to solidify an actual offer once the staff had seen more. By all accounts he'll be a good college player but there's no "ouch" here

He fits the mold of one of our needs. It would be nice to see us make a run. I wonder what happened at Xavier.

What's the scoop, why is he back on the market? I know we have other guys that are ahead him that we are looking at, is he worth going after, again?

What's the scoop, why is he back on the market? I know we have other guys that are ahead him that we are looking at, is he worth going after, again? Indiana fans think he might want to be part of a Fab 5 in the class of 2012 now that they've gotten several major commitments - those commitments weren't in place when Smith-Rivera committed to Xavier. Could be that with Xavier's mediocre play this year, he could be reconsidering. The guy that replaced Sean Miller certainly hasn't performed too well to this point.

Crean already got his point guard in Kevin Ferrell. DSR wants to be a PG so not sure if Indiana is in play.
