Ill pass on all of these Takeover guys except for Anya. Mike Sweetney all over again. I'll pass on Anya if he doesn't develop any face up game-Sweetney was a beast by time he was a Soph in HS--Anya still doesn't have a game outside of 5 feet of basket. I agree he's the one TakeOver guy I'd recruit but comparing him to Sweetney is a joke--Sweets offensively was light years ahead of BJ.

No offense Tgodhoya, but I could care less who wins an AAU tournament. I just want to see guys win enough to get on the televised games so we can see guys Hoyas are recruiting play. Aside from that, what does it matter to us who wins/loses the Peach Jam or the Showcase?
TakeOver has 1 kid currently listing Georgetown and he's not that high on them and not sure he fits anyways--he's a 6'7 Center who doesn't show well when playing other elite big men. I don't care how long your arms are if you aren't using them to do anything.
Was told a few years ago by an "insider" to pull for TakeOver and looking at it--it's a joke. Why do I care if Assault or TakeOver are winning tournaments as long as they have elite caliber prospects? Seeing TakeOver--they didn't this year. Assault--same thing. Good players. No doubt. But Georgetown is focusing on the players they should be whether they get them to sign or not, and they attend the TakeOver/Assault games--so they are doing their part as a program. Aside from that-as a Hoya fan, hope the prospects show well and like Georgetown--and if they don't--fine but either way if they lose every game, I could care less. It's AAU ball.

Well for one, it would be cool to see them more than just once on national television. And for me, at least, it would be cool to have a local team be regarded as the best in the country. That would help to attract better players and we could continue to form a relationship with the Takeover organization. One of these days we'll be begging to have a kid off that team. If theyre losing consistently, then the elite players will go elsewhere. It means a lot to these kids, and it's completely within your rights not to care one bit, but I'm sure it makes a difference to the coaching staff. Plus I'd rather recruit bonafide winners. There was an article a while back (idk if its in this thread or not) that talked about how well coached Takeover's players were and that any college coach that landed one of them would be getting a high quality player. I'm just saying it would be nice to have the DC area AAU teams feared throughout the AAU world. That's all. Plus Adala Moto was poised to break out in these two tournaments and get legit looks, but he couldn't anymore because of an injury. Remember, these are still kids that have big dreams. Who knows, maybe JTIII wouldve offered him on the spot after both tournaments...he certainly is talented enough to blow up that much from two national tournaments. IMO he is the best player on Takeover followed very closely by Grant, then Robinson/Anya, and Savage and Holloway. Some of us on this board are involved with people in the Takeover organization and wish them well, that's all.

Some of us on this board are involved with people in the Takeover organization and wish them well, that's all. Your last sentence makes sense--you are involved with people in organization-so that is normal for you to care and I think it's cool you do care. Just saying--the focal point of a program in evaluation period (AAU Ball) is to: 1. See players compete against other talented players 2. Make decisions on whether these players can impact their program Everything else doesn't mean jack. If it does-you have issues. III went to TakeOver and Assault games as he should--showing up to see those teams play. Thing is--if those programs slip, another in the area will be created--see decline of DC Blue Devils which was the Nike Team in area and dropped off. TakeOver (formerly Triple Threat) has sent Georgetown Chris Braswell (never made it), Jason Clark, and Mikael Hopkins. Assault has sent them Jeff Green, Austin Freeman, and Julian Vaughn. Even though Moses was going to play for them/associated with them/not sure he ever suited up for them. Why do I care which program is better/good? I've got my loyalty to seeing Georgetown sign the best players they can and if that means none come from DMV's AAU feeder programs, fine by me. I want great players--not seeing Georgetown sacrifice roster spots and recruiting decisions for something that may/may not happen down the line. That's what happens when you get too tied in with AAU guys. Moto's got great offers--what is wrong with his offers? Didn't effect him at all that he didn't get Georgetown offer--he's going to get a scholarship and have chance to play. As a guy who got caught up in the Assault-Hoya fued--looking back at it--it's stupid. Take responsibility for my ignorance and part in that crap and honestly--I just want to see III tracking the best players he can get--and quit worrying about keeping local AAU "elite" happy.

still can't cut your nose off to spite your face. You will need the local ties at some point, but I agree the talent has to be there. We all also know that there are schools that pay scouting services to put there name on a kids list, even if they're not recruiting him. Sometimes you make contact with a kid, when you realistically know you don't have a shot at him, just to make other schools wary or even back off (see Duke, UNC and UK). There are kids these schools have no interest in, but they keep their name out there for various reasons. There are many levels in the game.
