Sleeper in his class. Unranked right now. 6'5 SF at Episcopal. Has all the tools should develop nicely after only having been in the US for the past 8 months.

Please don't recruit him. I'm not sure any of us could ever learn to pronounce his name without snickering.

JTIII has been in attendance at two of Episcopal's last three games (albeit one was against Brandon Bolden's team so that may have in part been the draw), and Arnaud is averaging 19 points and has been a monster on the glass. He is a very legit 6'5" and maybe a still growing 6'6" who is athletic as they come (hops, speed, quick in transition). Can hit the three and has a nice mid-range jumper (that he needs to look to take more instead of crashing the lane). HI kid you not when I say he looks for all the world -- in terms of build and his aggression/colt-like friskiness and energy on the court -- like Patrick. He is the classic case (and we've had a few of these, who've worked out both ways) of trying to figure out whether the huge athletic upside justifies the risks shown by his relatively raw basketball skill (he's from Cameroon and has only been over here for two years). According to the program handed out at the Showcase tourney Episcopal played in last week at The Wakefield School (where they blitzed through two teams, including DESTROYING Brandon Bolden's The Miller School) Arnaud is getting looks from at least 15 elite D-1 schools, including Georgetown and several others in the Big East (Pitt and Louisville among them). He's not going to be a sleeper much longer, and if Episcopal (now ranked No. 3 by the Wash. Post in the Metro area, behind Dematha and the semi-pro's from Montrose Christian) keeps playing as they do (they have two other VERY solid players and a great young coach) you'll be hearing a lot more buzz about him . . .

Arnaud Adala Moto was in attendance for Midnight Madness--so he's been on radar for a while now--isn't he also a member of Team Takeover? Don't worry--he's on the radar.
Bolden's team has sucked at this juncture in the season--and not enough to go off how he's played individually--so your recap Hoyajmw is best we can go off right now and needless to say it's not encouraging about Bolden--in a class that has numerous talented players.

Excellent to hear Arnaud was at Midnight Madness, RDF, and you are right he was a member of Team Takeover -- he played with/got to know Kethan Savage for TT and helped get him over to Episcopal. Savage now repeating his junior year at Episcopal (was at Chantilly), and I think will see his stock rise too (but probably just can't shoot well enough to be high level D-1). Games are worth checking out in the beautiful old school yet newly refurbished Centennial Gym (built in 1939, the Centennial of Episcopal's founding -- now THAT's an old high school) in Alexandria/6 miles from the Hilltop . . .

Is anyone concenred about Bolden's production or lack thereof thus far? With so few schollies available for 2012 any "miss" becomes a huge opportinity cost.

No not concerned about Bolden at all, For us to take him so early, i'm guessing he has some tools that must translate over......and its not like other schools werent on him too. Big guys always take longer anyway, and little guys sometimes dont know how to get the guys the ball in high school.

Arnaud jumps to Second Team "All Met Watch" in today's Washington Post, averaging 19.7 a game. Episcopal dropped 2OT loss in brutal game/draw Friday, playing host The Hill School/Pottstown PA in Mercer Tournament (they lose on a put-back offensive rebound at buzzer -- not surprising given Hill has two 6'9" kids and bussing up that day couldn't have been good for hops/energy). Won next two (including a 36-31 game that Arnaud scored 20 of the 36), but still drop to No. 9 in area; now off until after New Year. . .

Interesting, where is he from again? And any chance that Joe Touomou is involved?

Arnaud is from Cameroon. Can't remember if that is Joe T's homeland or not but I don't think there is an ex-hoya African player connection at work here rather than the fact that his AAU team (Team Takeover) is high profile and Episcopal being local/playing in the same league as Markel's Georgetown Prep (with Landon, Bullis, St. Alban's, Saint Stephens) makes the connection to him easy to make by anyone looking local for talent (plus the EHS AD goes way back with III/knows him from when III was a player at Gonzaga and AD was working there).

Arnaud is one of Joe Touomou's kids. Joe has several kids here in the U.S.

As a matter of fact, Hippolyte Tsafack who plays for Memphis, is one of Joe's kids too...

Everytime I hear the name Joe Touomou, I picture him posturing aggressively on defense, right before his man easily beats him off the dribble for a lay-up

Every time I hear the name Joe Touomou, my knees ache. Dude's knees were bone on bone at age 19. Just hurt to watch.

Arnaud back from the long Christmas lay-off at Episcopal with 19 points and 17 boards in thumping Wednesday of Flint Hill 63-46. A trip Saturday to scenic Orange, VA to face century long arch-rival Woodberry Forest (which just played Landon tough before losing at Landon), and then the first big IAC match of the year: Landon at Episcopal Tuesday, Jan. 11, 6PM, at historic (think Hinkle Field House), newly renovated Centennial Gym. Plenty of good seats still available for the low, low price of free . . .

Who is this mysterious "hoyajmw" who only shows up to laud the play of Arnaud Adala-Moto? I suspect a relative.
