Wasn't Ronny Thompson @ Flint Hill? Randolph Childress?

Indeed they both were (along with Dennis Scott). Wikipedia link to school below (though -- shockingly! -- Ronny fails to make the "notable alumni"). The VISSA was formed in the early 90s, so in fact the teams that Ronny, et al played on probably were even better than the '95 championship team . . . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flint_Hill_School

Ronny and Sam Jefferson played at Flint Hill under Stu Vetter.

Late 80s/Early 90s, Flint Hill was one of the top programs in the country, let alone the state or metro area.

Arnaud's and Episcopal's seasons ended in 62-40 loss to Benedictine in VISSA State semis last night. Game story below pretty much nails it -- down 7 at halftime (not unusual for an often slow-starting EHS team), Benedictine hit three 3's in a row in third quarter to pull away. 40 points by EHS second lowest output all year, a function of VERY good defense by Benedictine and some of the team's usual shot selection issues (way too quick to launch the perimeter J) which couldn't be cured this time by relentless offensive rebounding 'cause Benedictine wouldn't allow it (plus EHS's senior slasher/best defender Sadiq Abubacar was still slowed by sprained ankle; kid incredibly tough playing through it but plainly couldn't play his normal game at either end) . Benedictine's Duke-bound 6'7" forward Michael Gjbinide vs. Arnaud an interesting match-up all night (he had 15; Arnaud with 8) which served to highlight some of the things Arnaud needs work on (handle in traffic to get to the basket; shot selection; consistency of stroke). On the brighter side, nice 2 minute clip below on some highlights of the EHS's win in the Sleepy Thompson last week-end (Arnaud #45). And that's a wrap . . . See you in the Garden next week, and at Centennial Gym next year! www2.timesdispatch.com/sports/high-school-sports/2011/mar/05/tdsport06-long-range-shooting-lifts-cadets-ar-884609/www.youtube.com/user/EpiscopalHSVa#p/a/u/0/t10AL_6I490

off to a fast start at Boo
thebballreport: Arnaud Adala Moto is playing at a very high level in this one. Crushed a baseline dunk and knocks in some jumpers.
EvanDanielscout: Adala Moto, a 2012 wing, is a beast. Defends, boards and is shooting it well. Umm ... Welcome to our rankings my man.

Also noted that he was first team All-Met.

may not have room for the kid, but may also regret not getting him.

Evan Daniels was showing AAM some love on twitter "Arnaud Adala Moto just work the gym up with a baseline power slam. A couple CP3 defenders felt that one." "Adala Moto, a 2012 wing, is a beast. Defends, boards and is shooting it well. Umm ... Welcome to our rankings my man." And two links: tinyurl.com/3sgrjqbning.it/fNSrfT

Evan Daniels:
-Arnaud Moto -- Easily one of the best wing prospects we've watched this spring, Moto, who plays for Team Takeover, is a tough customer. He doesn't back down from competition, he likes contact and he's aggressive. The 6-foot-5 wing is active, aggressive and hard nosed. Need a rebound? Moto will get it. Need to lock up on defense? Moto is your guy. He's a legit high major and future top 50 prospect.

Seems like we're a little crowded at the wing. Does he have the handle to play guard? Can't see us adding a wing in the '12 class. I could see us looking at him as a guard but then it seems he's behind at least DSR and York in terms of guards we're recruiting.

2012 is all about a scoring/rebounding big (Top 20 recruit) and a quick point guard. Everything else is not needed.

Too bad we couldn't hold out for him. A top 50 lockdown defender is hard to come by, no matter what position. That said, does he have the tools to play offensively as a 2?

I don't think DSR or York will end up as top fifty recruits as folks are projecting this kid to be.. Just sayin.. And he's a local kid..

DSR is considered by some to be a top 25 recruit and in the end, York could be the highest ranked recruit of the three.
