I feel like the HHC should also be alerting its members about this event. That would cover a lot of the area bball fans.

The biggest thing is that they cover it for the STUDENTS. Most students on campus haven't even heard about it yet, and it's almost 24 hours away.
Time to get on it, RIGHT NOW...

I'm sure a lot of the alumni in DC/VA/MD have those mini-DV camcorders so that they can send on videos (WITH sound to their relatives, etc. THAT's what we need for this event. Also, I'm sure there is some spoiled undergrad there with one of these cams. ;D On a side note, I'm sure the Athl. Dept. will record this, but you know how difficult it is to get videos from them...*cough* championship season VHS *cough*

The most IMPORTANT thing is to get the STUDENTS out for this PEP rally tomorrow night. To be honest, while I think there are a fair share of season ticketholders and local alum that would love to go, I don't see that many of them actually making it, unless I'm largely mistaken. Young alum should be able to show up, but on a Friday night, the mid-older alum have all other kinds of obligations. Of course, I'm still trying to figure out how I can make it from NYC (unlikely), but I don't think most alum/fans are as crazy as a few of us on this board.
Again, get the STUDENTS there. I would hope that at least 1500 students show up. It woud be great if 1/2 of the student body was there, and we doubled this number, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
STUDENTS - GET THE WORD OUT! IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS AN UNPARALLELED SUCCESS, THERE MUST BE BODIES THERE!!!
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! BEAT 'NOVA!

The entire student body will be informed. I have no doubt that this thing will hit the GU listproc once all plans are finalized and arrangements made.

Due to the fact that the event has only been planned recently, I suspect that informing alumni is low on the totem pole. That doesn't mean that we cannot do something on our own. It would be great if board members could just shoot a quick e-mail to friends and family in the DC area that there will be a Pep Rally at 730 tomorrow in the Harbin Patio.

I hate being geographically challenged I understand the pain. Also, if people haven't already thought of this... somebody should be SELLING TICKETS to the Nova game at the rally! I think a lot of people don't know how/whereto buy tickets for the game. Regardless, making it really easy for them to buy tix, especially when everyone's really juiced ('pepped') for the game, would be good, in my opinion.

I actually drove the A2/UM--DC/GU trip every year in law school to see the team. Once per year, but it was always worth it. Especially for the sweet(ney) 16 trip. Aside from being at the game, there's nothing like being in the Tombs for Hoya wins!

Someone in the althetic department should let Camille Powell of the Wash Post and Barker Davis of the Times know about this. I'm sure they would want to cover it (but wouldn't it be unfortunate if attendance is underwhelming and the press is there to document it.).

People in McDonough read the board, and I am sure that some of these suggestions are either helpful reminders or ideas worth pursuing. Also, PLEASE e-mail everyone you know in the DC area. It would be great to absolutely fill the patio and surrounding areas of campus.

GEt all those kids from section 334 last sunday... and make sure they each bring a couple of friends!
Much as this is exciting for us alumni to hear about, it is a STUDENT thing! Great for them. Go crazy letting everyone know.
Posters/flyers in all cafeterias, dorms, elevators, class room buildings, library, wherever people HAVE to go -- except over the urinals!
This HAS to be a success. All it takes is letting people know and sharing the enthusiasm.
GO HOYAS! Congrats to all involved in making this happen!

hey, over the urinals isnt a bad spot for flyers (NIT Banners yes, but flyers no) since people stop for a while and actually have time to focus on it a little and read it.

This thing has to be well-flyered for sure, to compensate for the short notice. If any of the guys from Hoya Blue want some help putting the flyers up, Im happy to help, especially here in Village C West. Just message me.
EDIT: Just went out and game back, and it looks like someone's already done it. Kudos on getting it done so fast guys!

Am I the only one that thinks lichoya would be an amazing part of any pep rally? I mean, has the word "peppy" ever not described him?

One thing I just thought of: wouldn't this rally be better served on Saturday night instead of Friday? The one-day lag in between pep rally and game seems odd to me. Nevertheless, the campus will be painted with fliers tomorrow morning...
