Hoyas on a tear - if I were WVU, I agree with previous poster - burn tape from the last game. Beating 'Cuse got us solidly on the 4 line; beating Marquette got us solidly on the 3 line; beating WVU will give us a 75% chance of locking up the last #2 seed in the dance - and hopefully in DUKE's region - it would be nice to stomp on those fellas again - HOYA SAXA

I want to win even more knowing that the WVU football coach is already marking the grave of the Big East....
“I don’t know where we’re going to land,” Stewart told the station, WTAP. “We could land, whatever, in one of maybe three conferences, the A.C.C., the SEC, maybe the Big Ten.”

I think WVU is really, really tough, and more consistently so than we have been - but we have been playing better than anyone over this week. I see it as a toss-up, and we have a real chance to take it.
I also like that we have little to lose. They are the higher seed, the top-10 team, expected to win. A loss hurts them more than us.

I was rooting for WVU last night to win because it would create essentially another opportunity for us to notch a big win and maybe give us a boost to the 2 line. Although ND is playing great, the voters likely are still viewing their recent success as a semi-fluke - which in my opinion is way off base. If I were to list 5 teams I didn't want to play in the NCAA ND would be in that list.

Cahill worked the late game last night. Good omen. I sat next to his daughter last night. She said he is not doing our game.

One important question tonight is whose fans own the gym? In the 2007 title game, we owned MSG. Great fan noise for GU, but we didn't seem to get the same lift in 2008.
How has the WVU turnout been thus far?

Pomeroy has WVU as a less than 1 pt favorite (48% chance of a GU win).

Sagarin has WVU #1 in SOS, and the Hoyas #2. This game may be that the Hoyas will inherit the #1 SOS in, at least, the Sagarin ratings, as a result of playing the higher ranked WVU. GU up to #11 in the overall ratings.

If West Virginia is really gonna press the issue on offensive rebounding I'd love to see us running the floor with quick outlets to CW for easy baskets. We've been running the secondary break really well recently and we really need to make WV pay for their aggression on the offensive boards or they'll kill us there.

Tonight will not be about revenge. It's bigger than that. We're playing for rings, and they are in the way.
Hell hath no fury like the Georgetown Hoyas.

JTIII had had a plan for everything the teams that beat us threw at us last time. I hope he has one for WV's 1-3-1 D. We were on the comeback and i fully think had them on their heels and would've won, but then they switched to the 1-3-1 and took us out of what we were doing and we never got closer.
The way coach ahs been performing this tournament I'm sure he will. Box out and rebound and keep doing what you're doing boys!

A friend of mine was stuck on a train in Newark, but texted that they were rolling again. Don't know if he made it in yet.

Meanwhile, back to the game.... this is HUGE for our guys. They had so much promise this year, faced the #1 SOS in the nation, fell short in some very easy games, but have pulled it together this week. First major accomplishment for the Freeman/Wright/Monroe Hoyas is at hand. BRING IT HOME!!!
