All-American Greg Monroe. Fair line 23, 13, 7. Who would think we would be in the finals without Austin making a single 3. Just saw the score, now I have to see the game on 360. GO HOYAS!!!!! Continue the revenge tour!

Um, guys, let's not drink too much of the Kool-Aid. Monroe's an astonishingly skilled player playing especially well right now, but do you actually remember the Magic Johnson and Bill Walton to whom you're comparing him? The eyes of not just their teams' fans but the whole nation were on them, and for a reason. Magic was as exciting a player to watch as the college game has seen, and Walton may well have been the best college player of all time. (Shooting 21 of 22 in a championship game is pretty much the definition of "best".)
A better way to see Monroe may be as an absolutely unique player who is superb now, but who has still greater promise to come. I so long to see him back next year.

Drink another beer and join the fun. Does Austin Freeman remind anybody else of Mark Aguirre?

Raftery and Bilas were a bit befuddled in trying to compare Monroe to an NBA player. I think Bilas suggested Sam Perkins but Raftery said Perkins didn't have the passing ability. I also think Perkins had a better face up jump shot. Monroe is sui generis. Perkins is an insult. Because he was just a fat player who shot is balloon set 3 Pt shot and blocked some shots on defense. He was also very lazy. I dunno why they keep comparing him to Perkins because Perkins never had the handles or passing ability. Maybe they are thinking of Perkins while at UNC.

Maybe they are also making the comparison because both Perkins and Monroe are left-handed

Looks like the streak is going to end for ND. West Virginia is tough. Really will have to bring it tomorrow. It would be nice if Butler got all his good shooting out tonight

Maybe they are also making the comparison because both Perkins and Monroe are left-handed That's a pretty bad comparison if that is what you are going to base it on. I'm left handed too so I guess I must play like Sam Perkins.

Looked up Perkins stats at UNC. Averaged 16 and 8 for 4 years. Numbers somewhat similar to Monroe's. He wasn't fat in college and body type plus left handedness may be something they are thinking about.

Sally will write a love letter to Beavis Vasquez. Dan Steinberg will no doubt run with a good tip from Greensboro about how Greivis pulled up to a Bojangles drive-thru and honked his horn and hollered out the window when the lady asked for his order.

Greg has grown so much in the last year. Just wow. All he needs now is to stop dangling his mouth guard in front of the camera. He's just an incredibly talented player. We didn't even need that much from Austin & Chris tonight. Everyone needs a bit more luck on the FTs - that would have cost us in a closer game - but otherwise we did everything right. Just imagine if he stays one more year and starts hitting the 3 consistently. I wonder if he could play PG a la Magic Johnson. His skillset is quite similar, believe it or not. um, no. you're kidding right? he could be lamar odom, and that is a compliment.
