If he is a sophmore even better for us. Rivals has him at 2011.

Great pickup. Not even considering that he'll be the first player to bring back the dreads since Jeff, he's got exactly the length/potential combination that people have been clamoring for. As long as qualifies he should be a great addition. Especially if he has two more years before he gets here.

No way he wears dreads in a Hoya uniform.

No way he wears dreads in a Hoya uniform. Why not? Jeff wore the dreads for a year, then decided to shave them off himself.

JT3 gave them a one year exception.

Reminds me a little bit of WVU's Ebanks in terms of his movement/build- but looks to be a better shooter.

An older article (Dec. 2008) about the young man .. Twerp fans will try to spin this off as "we backed off cause he's an academic risk and couldn't get into MD" ... IF he does verbal .. I for one think we're getting a great prospect and with-in 2 yrs he can become special. I also hope we can get good news from Abraham next week as well: Speaking of D.C. Assault, the powerhouse AAU program for which he plays may be the biggest factor in the Hoyas’ recent emergence into his recruitment. “Chris Wright and Austin Freeman played for Assault two years ago. He’s talked to both of them and they have a good relationship. Georgetown’s assistant coach came out to one of his workouts and said they’d like to have my son play for them. If it wasn’t for Chris Wright and Austin Freeman playing for D.C. Assault, we might not have that opportunity to play for Georgetown,” Dion Goodman said. www.insidemdsports.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=212:local-phenom-eyes-terps-hoyas&catid=65:basketball-recruiting&Itemid=61

From someone who wears dreads, I see absolutely nothing wrong with them, if worn neatly and naturally. Kid seems to be the slasher/shooter Hoyas have lacked in recent classes. long, athletic, jumping jack, who can stroke it. If there are any academic issues, he has two full years to get them tight.

Set to commit to the Hoyas soon per HoyaReport. Stop me if you've heard the X=Hoya comment before. Let's hope HR is right about this one. Don't know anything about the kid, but because of Lubick and Starks committing so early, it feels like it's been forever since we've signed anyone. Signing a 4 star guy like this kid would shut a lot of people up. Good to hear he's an athletic swingman. I get the feeling that Hollis will always be more of a shooter than a slasher (but a damn good one at that) so getting a guy who can slash to the basket and finish well will help in my opinion.

I can't find one shred of internet evidence that this kid is committed to us. So has he committed, or is his pending commit still speculation?

I can't find one shred of internet evidence that this kid is committed to us. So has he committed, or is his pending commit still speculation? HR has a direct quote from him that he is going to verbally commit when the team gets back from WVU. Since the team itself can't comment, and he can't sign for a long time, that may be as much as we hear (aside from a "I did call and verbally commit). Apparently, he unofficially visited over the weekend, and despite the outcome of the ND game, still wanted to be a Hoya.

In a couple years when he gets on the hill he could be part of a really interesting roster. I mean that specifically in that we have the potential to have a pops-esque lineup on the court in terms of imposing length (and hopefully defense where we can just bring on wave after wave of long defenders) with hollis, him and hopefully and abraham/christmas etc while at the same time having the skill to be very good in the princeton variant.
3's recruiting also needs to be praised here because picking up guys like Goodman and hopefully Abraham complements Nate's skill set.

Maybe he saw a fellow Assault player, sick as a dog, try to play his heart out for the Coach and the program, and figured that was the kind of place he wanted to play.

We need the center.
Right now we've got a PF in Nate, and hopefully a long 3 in Goodman (although depending on his year, they may not play that much together). If he's 6'8" now, he might be 6'9"-10" come enrollment.
But we've had that before. What we haven't had is always is a PF and a center.

I am not going to jump the gun on this--but I'll say this--Goodman has been to a ton of Georgetown games and he was at Midnight Madness as well.

I like the dreads. Makes me think the guy has a little attitude and swagger. Our current team could use some of that.
But yeah, hope he's a good player too.
