Is Austin playing?
EDIT: Nevermind, just saw the thread. That hurts our chances greatly.

Yeah Austin not being there is a big blow. He's the one guy you know wouldn't get rattled by any road crowd. We're going to need a tremendous effort by guys stepping up in his place, and Chris needs to play about as well as he's played all year. This is, in some ways, an unimportant game. A win would be huge and could put us back in the top 3 seed discussion (although we'd probably Edited that away against Cincy). A loss doesn't really matter that much because we're missing Austin and on the road against a high caliber opponent. The only thing that I'm looking for is mindset.

I was trying to be optimistic about this game, but with Austin out... at least my expectations are quite low.
Clark committed 5 turnovers last year against this team, including a few into the stands IIRC. Is Benimon, Sanford, or Sims more prepared than Clark was last year? That game was much earlier in the season, but I had more faith in that Clark at that point than any of the three I just named. I really, really hope somebody proves me wrong.
Sanford has 24 minutes against Big East teams not named Rutgers this year. I could see him approaching that tonight alone. I don't think either of the backup bigs is ready for this team or environment.

SC segment on "Hoyas Hurting" in lead up to Big Monday. Bilas says losing leading scoring is not crippling and JTIII told him, Raftery and McDonough that the Hoyas need to pick up slack collectively, but Bilas thinks that is an awful lot of slack to pick up. Still thinks Hoyas will be "very very competitive."

Like everyone is saying we need Greg to be a beast. Looking at West Virginia against the better big men in the big east: Harangody and Samuels both put up good numbers against them, while Jackson and Onuaku did not play well. So that's not a trend at all, but at least there is a possibility that Greg puts up some monster numbers. The only good thing I can think from austin not playing is the size. It seems like everyone on West Virginia is a 6'8" athletic wingman and Hollis' size matches up better than Austin. That being said, and to state the obvious, I still think Austin in the line up gives us a much better chance at winning and I'm a little scared about the outcome of this game
Go Hoyas!

Oh good, its senior night, I was hoping there was something that would balance our advantage over WVU tonight.

Apparently although Austin is the only one who had to go the the hospital, a few other players on the team are also sick

Our offense looks pathetic. Chris seems insistent on losing this game for us. But it's not like anyone else on the team seems to want to do anything about it, so Edited it, I guess Chris can shoot if he wants.

a quick observation on clark....great spot up shooter, strong finisher, can't create his own shot.
