I am rooting for a West Virginia win, but with 5 minutes to go, for a drunken Bob Huggins to storm the court Dennis Hopper style, shouting "You were out of position to make the call!!!!!", after which the Mountaineers will proceed to lose all the remaining games on their schedule.
That is the best non-meteor plan I can come up with.
(My honest opinion is that Pitt wins this one and it's not even really that close, but I've been known to be wrong on the rare occasion in the past.)

Here's to hoping the Oakland Zoo exacts (tasteful) revenge on the Mountaineers tonight. Need to get that 3 seed in the BET! Are we sure this is the way to go? While I agree that the 3 seed is a fine and attainable goal, isn't assuring a top 4 seed the most important thing, and if so, is knocking Pitt down another peg preferable? I'm really unsure. I'm assuming Cuse will maintain the 1 seed over Nova simply because Nova's remaining BE schedule is much more difficult. Personally, I think we match up much better with Nova than Cuse or WVU, and would rather face them in the semis if possible. A 3 seed should ensure that, barring a complete collapse late in the regular season by Nova. We also own the H2H tiebreaker with Pitt already. Lastly, I hate WVU far more than I hate Pitt.

Cornell @ Penn is an interesting GOI today with Princeton having a dark horse shot at the Ivy title. Princeton is down early to Columbia.

If WVU loses tonight, I am not even sure they are on the NCAA #2 line anymore, which is another reason we want them to lose. I also think WVU on the road is the toughest game left on our schedule, and Pomeroy bears that out as well. I want nothing to do with playing WVU on big Monday on the road where it means the #3 or #4 seed for the Big East. The more they lose, the better.

As if UNC wasn't bad enough Ed Davis broke his wrist in the Duke game out 6 weeks aka until UNC has already lost in the NIT. There were reports from UNC's Rivals site that Davis had already "checked out" from the program (mentally speaking). The game against Duke may have been his last in an UNC uniform.

Well lookings at remaining schedules, I think Pitt probably has an easier stretch, and since there is a bigger difference the 5th and 4th seeds than there is between the 3rd and 4th, I think we would rather WVU win this one. If Pitt wins this game there its reasonable that they could only lose one game the rest of the way, meaning that for us to secure the fourth seed we can only lose one more game the rest of the way. So I am cheering for WVU.

And Cornell goes down to (now) 4-15 Penn. If someone else wins the Ivy (like currently undefeated Princeton) does Cornell get an at large?

I would doubt it - hasn't happened before, even in the heyday of the Princeton-UPENN rivalry. Cornell will have a good SOS relative to your generic Ivy League at large candidate, but the absence of quality wins on that schedule is noticeable. Predicted RPI right now of 47, which is bubble-land. Another loss or two on there would probably push them off the bubble.

They are probably ahead on #2 line against us, they are ahead in rankings, and they are ahead in the Big East. Plus, WVU winning gives them the same best road win as us. Like I said, too, I just think its a tall task for us to win in Morgantown, so we want West Virginia to keep dropping. We already beat Pitt so they cant win a straight tiebreaker.

Its a tough call...benefits both ways and neither a disaster. Now we have the inside shot to a 4 seed which I think is key.

The fact that I don't see us beating WVU on the road is why I want them to win. We may be competing with WVU in a lot of ways, but not in anyways that really make a big difference. I don't see much of a difference between a 3 or 4 seen in the BET, nor do i see a difference between a 2 and 3 in the NCAA tournament. I am much more concerned with securing that 4 seed in the BET, which I think might require beating WVU @ WVU if Pitt wins this game. Hence the reason I want WVU.

We have to be able to beat both teams if we want to accomplish a goal of our program - to win a national championship. This is an exciting game but not necessarily an exhibit of good basketball.

3 OTs and neither team gets to 100? and you can't even say it was great defense.
all we can hope for is that the emotional impact is devastating to both teams

Turned away from the game an hour ago when Pitt was down by ten. Thought the contest was long over. Tripple overtime?!? Ah, must be a Big East game.

Who has WVU beaten? Neutral? Away? They have no right being #4 in the nation. They should be ranked #12 and be in line for a 3 or 4 seed. One win over Syracuse does not a season make. Beating Butler & Washington on neutral, Pitt away, and thrashing Duke and Nova at home makes the Hoyas a legit 2 seed as of now. Waxing Syracuse at home and winning the BE tourney makes the Hoyas a #1 seed.

My apologies. WVU lost to Syracuse too. In fact they've lost to every really good team they've played. Beating Ohio State & Old Miss does not warrant #4 in the country. Adios Huggins.
