Reddic looks much better to me than Moses. I would much rather have Moses on the team. 1. His upside is much higher in my opinion (hasn't been playing bball as long). 2. The kid is BIGGER than Reddic and we need BIG bodies in the Big East. 3. He has a 7'3 wingspan and apparently a 40 inch vertical leap (if that's true, remember that Ewing Jr. had the highest pre-draft vertical at 42 inches). 4. The kid averaged about 8 blocks a game and I think 15 boards. We need a defensive stopper (and I know Reddic can block shots also). 5. He is local (I prefer a local kid all things being equal). 6. This is pure speculation, but I think Moses would be a better student-athlete. Time to head to the Garden.

On No. 6, the Terps fans are already conceding that Abraham is going to be a Hoya... and once again they are trotting out the old "he couldn't get in to Maryland" excuse. It's really amazing that they believe that, as if UMCP was an Ivy and not some glorified commuter school. ON EDIT: Then again, anyone who sees today's lead headline at www.hoyareport.com might not believe GU's stringent academic standards either.

I saw the video of Moses and he looked like Vaughn to me. I did not see anything exceptional. I trust my eyes over the inflated numbers of his handlers. I hope we get him though as I could be wrong.
No reason not to go after Reddic as well since Monroe is probably out. All the big guys we have next year competing against each other would make everyone better.

Forgive us for doubting your all-knowing recruiting acumen. I'm sure many are like me and didn't realize you'd watched a youtube clip of the kid. Hater.

If he's junior year Vaughn as a HS senior, then sign him up now!

I don't see a lot of great offense, but form what I've seen, he's a lot more athletic than Julian. Julian has fantastic timing and is a smart player, but the guy is not exactly a high jumper. I haven't seen enough of anyone to have a preference, but Julian is reasonably polished and not very athletic. Moses is kind of the opposite.

Hater....why am I a hater? Because I have my own opinion? Yikes....sorry my Fuhrer I did not mean to disagree with you the almighty. How dare me.
As far as looking like Vaughn I meant athletically. A plodder. I do not want plodders who need to gather to spring forth. I want quick leapers. Reddic fits the bill better than Moses. If you can why not take both?

"I want quick leapers"
At least we now know that a 40 inch vertical leap isn't good enough to qualify as a quick leaper in your book.

I think they are better than we are. I do not have to explain myself to the likes of you. Keith Elam is the real Guru you are merely a fraud. I went to the game in the Dome and I saw a major disparity in match-ups. We do not match up well with them. If we played 10 times they win 8.....hopefully today is our day but we have to be Don Larsen to get it done.

Sadly I refuse to believe he has a 40 inch vert. The video I saw did not say 40in vert. Sometime people lie to inflate their clients.....people do lie you know.

If you saw video of Roy Hibbert at GU Prep you wouldn't likely be impressed either. Last time I checked, he is in the NBA and didn't have a bad collegiate career.

As far as looking like Vaughn I meant athletically. A plodder. I do not want plodders who need to gather to spring forth. I want quick leapers. Reddic fits the bill better than Moses. If you can why not take both? I'd be surprised if he was a plodder. Now granted, I haven't seen anything beyond a few youtube clips. But two of the teams recruiting him are Kentucky and Tennessee (I'm not wrong about that am I?), and neither of those teams play a style that behooves getting plodders. The other advantage he has, is if that freakish Dejuan Blair-esque 7'3" wingspan is true, he doesn't need to leap constantly. If he has good timing, he will be a defensive force even if he is a plodder. I'm not sure we could sign Reddic and Moses and get the guys we want in 2011. By then, we'd have Soph. Lubick, Reddic, Abraham, Jr. Jerrelle, and Sr. Henry. We'd have room for probably one more guy (ideally Xmas), but we certainly wouldn't have room to get him and some of the other guys we are linked with (Jordan O, Hopkins). I know bird in the hand and what not, but it might be better to take 2 from the 2011 class than 2 bigs from the 2010 class. Not to mention that getting a huge true C like Jordan O might be better than adding another PF like Reddic.

Dikembe Mutombo -- another athletic project big man Nah, wouldn't want to recuit that type. . .

Yeah many more turn into Mutombo than turn into Ya Ya Dia. The exception is always good to use as the rule.

I think waiting for players we want that don't commit has hurt us in the past. If Reddic and Moses want in take them.
From all I hear we are favs to land X-mas. He should see all those big bodies and be more excited to come here. He starts immediately wherever he goes. I saw his videos on the net and I absolutely love him. He is the kind of athlete mixed with skill we need.

More likely just Moses.
But Bronx's point is valid. The key is knowing where you stand so you get the best possible talent, but don't lose out on your back-up by waiting too long. That's where I see Coach getting more savvy with experience.
