Oh, come on Buff! You think crazy eyes, dirty, grimy, dead-animal-skeleton-baby, might-stab-me-in-the-neck-at-any-moment Claire is hotter than ever, and you know it.

Good to see Buff back in action. ;D Sure, Buff, take your time. We need your counsel.
I was wondering whose Jack's wife was too. I was hoping that she would be at home. Why wasn't she at the recital? I'm glad Jack finally made a human connection with his son. As we all know, he has trouble with relationships.
Do you have to die to become infected? Did Claire die like Sayid? Hurley keeps consistent in being able to see dead people.
We all expect to see Desmond again. Is he the one Jacob is expecting? Will we see Widmore again? Curious minds want to know.

I wonder if there's anything to be made of the fact that Claire seems to have taken over the role of Rousseau. Both crazy at first. Both searching for lost children. Both looking like they haven't bathed in years.
And if we're looking for Wallace, I think we should ask Stringer Bell. (Any Wire fans? I actually just finished season 1. Brilliant show. I highly recommend to all for after Lost wraps up.)
Really, I think Wallace is Walt. In season 2 (or maybe 1), Walt was set up as really significant. I think that needs to go somewhere.

Yeah, among other things, we STILL don't know really why the Others were abducting children and had such a special interest in Walt.

"The Final Season continues tonight at 9|8c with "Sundown" when Sayid faces a difficult decision - what will his journey bring tonight?"
So maybe they won't continue with the pattern and have a sun centered episode. When I heard the title i assume it would be since it does have sun in the name just like the first sun episode in season 1 "house of the rising sun"
Who knows. I'm really pumped though.

I hope that the teaser is just to throw us off and it is about sun. Though i dont like her very much, i like them mirroring the first season and i like the story line of the ajira people alot and !Lapedis!

Another real quality episode I thought. Loved the scene with Keamy, was definitely the best part of the alt-timeline so far.
Who can stop the Flocke Army?

Some interesting things about the altworld. I may not be remembering everything so correct me if i'm wrong. But I think this flash sideways was much different than those in the past and that might be important. 1) most notably it was the first one to not really end. It didn't get wrapped up at the end. 2) It's the first one where life doesn't really seem better for the character. One could argue he's a slightly better man because he's less prone to killing people. but he ended up doing that in the end anyway. I guess he's trying to be a better person. But sayid's story doesn't appear to have a happy ending in ether timeline. 3) I don't think sayid ever had that moment of deja vu or of looking in a mirror.
not sure what these differences mean. But they were noticeable. At least to me.
This season is frustrating in many ways ( but still awesome and i'm loving every moment) however we really have no clue what's going on at. More so than any other time in the series. We have no clue Flocke's plan. We have no clue Jacob's plan except that the two plans are working against eachother. We have no clue what's going on in half the show or what it means.
Other Questions: Where was sawyer and Jin during this whole invasion by Flocke? How was dougen keeping Flocke out of the temple? How the hell can you kill Flocke? Doesn't seem like anythign physical is going to cut it. What's going to happen to kate? she's with the flocke group. But I don't think she's "with" the Flocke group( although a friend argued differently) Will ben catch up with Illana and that group? I assume so. What is jin doing in that restaurant tied up? I assume it has to do with his work for mr. pak.
Answers: So yeah Sayid is evil now. All the characters new to this season are dead. Dogen was a banker off island. Can't have been on the island that terribly long. I don't think there really lots of answers last night. Lots of cool stuff. But not really answers.
I also loved the keamy scene. Always love a good smokie ass kicking scene.
The group of people who are still standing against Smokie( aka not with him in any way shape of form) is growing pretty small. Jack, Hurley, Sun, Miles, Illana, Frank, ben, Richard. Everyone else has joined him or is physically in his camp. Plus i guess whoever's coming to the island.

Some neat trivia/easter eggs that I didn't notice while watching: "At the hospital after Omer's mugging, Sayid and Nadia pass Jack, who is in his hospital scrubs, in the hallway. "
"Sayid was taken to the same restaurant kitchen Naomi took Miles to recruit him to join the Kahana."

I was pretty amazed by the tip-off they gave for next week's episode regarding Ben Linus.
Since this show never gives anything away, EVER, I am going to assume that's some trick of theirs, using a play on words (a poor one, if that's the case).
Seriously, why in the hell would they want to tell everyone that Ben dies next week? Seems pretty stupid to me.

well they said he'd face his demise. They didn't say he'd meet his demise.

well they said he'd face his demise. They didn't say he'd meet his demise. As I said, a pretty poor play on words, if that's what they're doing. I'm really kind of surprised at how generally poor the reaction has been to the final season's episodes (not on this board necessarily, but in critic circles and on some of the fan forums). I really haven't been disappointed with any of them. I honestly think there are some people out there who expected this season to be a Dharma instructional video, with Dr. Marvin Candle explaining, "The four-toed statue means this, and Adam & Eve mean this, and here are the good guys and here are the bad guys, and this is what you need to know, and everything you ever wanted to know. I find the continued teases infuriating on one level, but one another level, it's kind of what I've liked about the show all along. I am glad they have not turned Season 6 into Battlestar Galactica 1980, when Earth was discovered and all mysteries were solved and it just became a battle for Earth between cylons and humans on freaky motorcycles. I am confident that, as I let this unravel, much will be made clear. But I am also sure that much will be left unresolved, and I am OK with that. Just as long as we get to see Libby again before all is said and done.

I agree boz. I think at the end everything will be much more clear and we'll rewatch the season and be even more blown away. I think honestly this summer I'll end up rewatching the show from beginning to end and just be blown away.
I've loved every episode so far. Its pretty much the highlight of my week these days. I don't know if we'll see libby but i think we'll at least find out about her a little.

I'm trying to work out some theory on the alternate universe and karma, but I can't really put it together right now. Locke is much happier, as is Jack to a lesser degree. Meanwhile, Sayid was a torturer (in both universes it seems) and continues to be unhappy. This theory mainly stems from Keamy's death, which roughly mirrors what he did to Alex on the island. I'm not sure it really means anything, but that Sayid basically executed Keamy seems somewhat meaningful.

Just watched it. Loved Sayid in this episode. I love it in any movie or TV show when a character just hits someone or shoots them or stabs them, in this case, with out some korny line. That is how it would happen in real life. So i was very happy when Sayid just went out and stabbed Locke.
someone asked where Jin was. I believe he is still at Claire's "house" with his broken leg. I bet next week we see him hobbling away and then hell run into everyone else then they will meet Jack/Hurley/Sawyer then the gang will be back together so they can fight Locke.
I think Dogan was the only one keeping Locke out because he probably knew some way of actually killing him.
I find it very interesting that there must be some reason that Dogan has to get someone else to kill Sayid and he couldnt do it him self. I think it is the same as Jacob having to tell Hurley what Jack needs to do and not telling Jack. Also like God getting people to do stuff indirectly.
In my experience (which is limited to movie and TV cliches), killing the head of some criminal organization is never really an end to that kind of harassment because there is always an underling who will come after you. Micheal Weston of Burn Notice has taught me much.
Im guessing the resolution to the Sayid chronicles will be found during the Jin episode (which i am really hoping is just him trying to talk to people and shouting "NO ENGLISH!" at them.
This was the first episode that felt like more answers than questions if only because we learned who is definately evil and that Locke is definately battling Jacob.
I am guessing Jack will have some way of killing Locke that will involve Hurley.
Best Week Ever joked: "I assumed the episode “Sundown” was gonna be about Sun (like Season 1’s “House of the Rising Sun”), and I was already prepared to rip on the terrible pun title with my own list of upcoming episodes (“Blackjack”, “Ben’d It Like Beckham”, “Kate-O Kaelin”) but Lost managed to cut all the Sun scenes and replace them with Sayid scenes at the last minute, and the episode ended up being less “Sundown” and more “East Of Sayiden”."
I laughed.
That is all.

Stupid question, where is Desmond? Is he Dead, if so I don't remember?
I have been disappointed with the season, but I guess I have to trust the producers and creators to tie everything together and make this worth my while. I guess I dont like the season because its so fragmented. Everyone is off on there own camp. Sawyer is in the rock ledge cave with flock, Jack is with Hurley, Jin is at Claires camp, Ben and sun and lepedis are making there way to the temple, and kate is where ever. There just doesnt seem to be any cohesion. Very mis-moshed.
I like the parellel universe angle, though I think Jack knows that something is not right. This bears some watching. I dont know well see how it goes ther eis like 12 more episodes left....

you guys are much bigger Lost-heads than me (I only watched intermittently the past few seasons after watching most of seasons 1 and 2, but have been into it this season), but this stuff has gotten very Carnivale-esque. i'm loving every minute of it!

Seeing as how Henry Ian Cusick is still listed in all the opening credits, I am quite confident we will be seeing Desmond and Penny in the final season. But I too thought that we would have seen him by now. After such a build-up in Season 5, I thought that he would have a bigger role to play in the denouement of this series. Personally, I like that everyone is kind of fragmented. But then again, I kind of like horror movies. When does all the good stuff happen in horror movies? When the characters are alone or get separated. And yeah, I think we might see a "Neo" moment for Jack in the Sideways-verse at some point.

Boz, this may be my ignorance but where is Desmond? Like is he on the island wandering off on his own? I thought he was with lapidis and sun? I guess not. I dont remember where we saw him last? Did he time travel, trying to hook up with faraday to save everyone on the island??
I remember on the sideways version, Desmond was on the plane, and clearly he should not be, he should have been on the island pushing that button! I guess time will tell....
