www.washingtonexaminer.com/sports/Duke-loss-was-a-learning-experience-82992882.htmlThe Hoyas (15-4, 6-3 Big East) are coming off an equally demoralizing defeat earlier this week at Syracuse as they prepare for the last of four games in five years against the Blue Devils (17-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) on Saturday. But Hoyas head coach John Thompson III, whose first big win at Georgetown was a court-storming victory over then No. 1 Duke at Verizon Center in 2006, isn't concerned that a slide similar to last year's is in store.
"I don't think we have to worry about that," said Thompson, who isn't sure if the series with Duke will be renewed, "That's not to say we're not going to lose games. This team is not last year's team. It's much different in every way, shape and form. Monday was not mental fatigue. They just beat us." Thank you, JT. That's what I wanted to hear.

espn.go.com/ncb/notebook/_/page/notebookweekendwatch100129/jan-29-31Weekend Watch...Front and Center. BOOOOO Bilas, BOOOO! "Who wins: Duke in a tight game. If Georgetown can get the Blue Devils to chase its Princeton offense, it will be advantage Hoyas. But Duke is very confident right now after wins against Clemson on the road and Florida State at home. A win at Georgetown would be the Devils' biggest of the season so far."

Not necessarily Duke centered but fantastic article on Monroe in the NY Times: www.nytimes.com/2010/01/30/sports/ncaabasketball/30monroe.html?hpw"Norma Monroe said her son was looking forward to the day he could give back to his hometown. After Greg was named the Big East’s rookie of the year last season, he considered entering the N.B.A. draft, where he would probably have been a first-round pick. Each day at practice, he sees the framed N.B.A. jerseys of former Georgetown players that hang in the team’s gymnasium, like ghosts of Hoyas past. He thinks about the day his jersey will join the others. He also thinks about his mother, who still works at the post office and as an elementary school teacher’s aide, still helps run the concessions stand at some of the Helen Cox basketball games, and lives in the same house that survived Katrina. But Norma told her son that he should not go to the N.B.A. until he was certain he was ready."
