Clearly Mr. Wise failed to attend the Pitt and Marquette games in '07. Not quite AS charged, but definitely worthy of mention.

Kind of a disappointment at Sports Illustrated's website—a lead picture of the Hoyas, yes, but the links are to two articles: (1) a column about how Duke has declined and (2) the same AP wire story every other publication is carrying. Nothing about Georgetown itself?

sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=4872906Georgetown had 48 points in the paint to Duke's 24 and only relinquished the lead twice. Defensively, Georgetown had nine blocks and forced Duke into uncharacteristic mistakes and 15 turnovers. It's still early in the season, and Krzyzewski wouldn't go so far as to say Georgetown is a legitimate national title contender, though he did say, "they're really good."
"I don't think Georgetown is a powerhouse," Krzyzewski said. "You can't let one game define you either way."You stay classy, Coach K.

K is a bitter little creep, and Wise is sententious in the worst sense of the word IMHO
I asked on Friday in another thread if anyone thought Duke would become a regular bi-annual thing. I will now answer my own question: I hope not.
Let's give Kentucky a try.

I love this piece on Obama at the game. sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=4872529And this particular line is great: "After a referee made a call that went against Georgetown, an obscene chant was cut short after one student admonished another, 'Dude, the president of the United States is right there.' "
