I think Chris would be helped tremendously by stronger outside shooting from the other perimeter players. Not only does that give the offense a hot hand to run through, it keeps the defense from cheating to help stop penetration, and also from overplaying the backdoor cut Austin, JC, even Chris himself, would make a huge difference if they can step it up. Then maybe Chris won't try too hard to make things happen.

I actually mind more how we're using Chris defensively. Clark and Chris could be getting into passing lanes all over the place. But we play pretty much straight up, no gamble, and for Clark that's usually not so bad. But that style favors bigger, more physical defenders and I think Chris would benefit from getting more chances to use his quickness and convert defense to offense.

Austin-38% from 3 point range and 46% from the field Jason- 39% from 3 and 49% from the field Hollis- 50% from 3 and 53% from the field So the shooting is there. And I dont knock CHris b/c he tries to make things happen, but the drive and kick is often open. Even at times when Greg gets it down on the block, the ball doesnt ever come back out. Not sure if this should be dropped here, but a guy shooting 50% from 3 with as many attempts as Hollis has, Id like to see him get few more looks to try and get going.

He was practically invisible on offense against ODU. With an 18 point deficit, trying to claw back into a game, how much would 2 or 3 quick threes have helped? (Granted, we got some threes, but I'd rather Hollis taking them than Greg.)

34 Pts, 6 Assists, 3 Boards, 6/7 from the Line, 2/5 Threes, 13/22 overall
Maybe he read the board and decided to remind everyone who Chris Wright really is?

Anyone know how many steals he had today? Seemed like eight or something (though most of our steals were a team effort -- someone slaps it loose and another person was quickest to the loose ball).

Wow, the ESPN recap says it was the first 30 point game by a Hoya since Mike Sweetney did it in January 2003. Almost 7 years - I didn't realize that..

Also, I believe Gerald Riley scored 37 and 35 against Miami in 2004.

i would have cringed had I learned he took 22 shots (w/ our balanced system, 'slow' tempo, and the recent slight he has been getting) but he took over and never let up.

The basketball personification of a Tilt a Whirl. Great fun, but I have a feeling it's gonna make me sick one of these days.

Was not able to see the game, but was this just a situation where Chris was the fastest player on the court with the ball and could not be defended by anyone in a Havard jersey? I saw an awful lot of CW layups being called in the play by play. In any case, I am glad to see we allowed the hot hand to keep burning today. Sounds like between the steals and scoring, Chris was dominant on both sides.
