Just bought my tickets to Saturday's game. Looking forward to my first (non-Kenner, non-Midnight Madness, non-my grad school graduation) McDonough game since the NIT tilt with Cal State-Fullerton!
EDIT: Or maybe it was the early conference game vs. Stetson and Chief KickingStallionSims... I can't remember which was more recent, and I'm too lazy to look it up.

ODU's solid, but top 10 teams win these sorts of games. Let's take care of business.

If we pull an upset this time around, I will personally buy McDonough and have it airlifted to Norfolk, and make sure we play all our games there for the rest of forever. Georgetown is too good for us right now; our offense is awful. GU by 20. We have to find a lawyer to draw this contract up IMMEDIATELY, if he takes McDonough then we can build an ARENA!!!! (Or other better facilites). I'm fine taking one loss for the sake of getting new facilitites...its not like we are 4-4 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hey, ODU fan here checking in. Should be a good game, but I think Georgetown has the horses to pull this one out. Our defense is good enough to keep us close, but out offense is bad enough that we don't have much of a shot at pulling the upset. If we are able to hit some shots that we haven't hit against good teams all year, we have a chance, but realistically, I'd say that a tight, defensive battle goes the way of the Hoyas, 64-56.
Here is to both teams winning their respective conferences and making the NCAA tourney (which is a realistic possibility this year). The CAA is down and while the Big East will always be tough, I think its GU or WVU who wins the title. I don't believe in Syracuse or UConn this year and think the former two teams are the real contenders this year.
ODU, VCU and unbelievably, William and Mary will be the contenders in the CAA this year. Don't know if you guys follow the CAA at all but if you like watching great offensive sets (which you must since Gtown runs the Princeton offense), you guys would love watching W&M. David Schneider is one of the best shooters in the entire country.
Look forward to talking with you guys a little more before the game.

I look forward to seeing W&M knocking off the terps in their annual lose to a local team game.

ODU at McD, such bad memories...
ODU and Harvard each smell heavily of trap games, both are solid mid majors, so hopefully the boys will not be dreaming about Christmas time and the Big East season and will take these games seriously. I'm sure JTIII will be working hard to make sure they do.

There's nothing beautiful about the millstone better known as the Princeton offense. Haven't you ever seen VMI? Now THAT is offense!

Besides the usual, I really want to see how JV follows up his UW performance. Without reading too much into it or putting too much pressure on, his emergence will play a big role in determining whether we are one of the top-4 teams in this conference. His effect of freeing up Greg was huge, and really changed the dynamic of our offense.
I'm confident we'll keep doing what we've been doing, but if JV is going to be UW-JV this season, then I'd like to see something resembling a repeat performance of 12 and 7.

By the way, Marc Egerson graduated from Delaware to my knowledge after transferring to be closer to his kid, and Jeff Green is going to school in the summer to finish his degree.

As if I needed to yell louder after wrapping up finals...
geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez i cannot WAIT for this game.
I'm a junior, so i missed the original ODU mess, but i still have photos saved on my phone from the Omar Wattad 3 to put us into triple digits, and the 50+ point margin of victory.
RUN. IT. UP.

I still don't know if I've ever felt as low as a Hoya fan as after that game and that includes last year. Not putting it up as objectively worse than anything...just baaaad memories

Not putting it up as objectively worse than anything...just baaaad memories Oh, to have a November pre-conference game in a year they went to the Final 4 as my psychological low point as a Hoya fan. I know, no one knew the Final 4 part was coming, but that game was more embarrassing than depressing. Even during the JTIII era there are several more crushing losses: if I saw Gerry McNamara when I turned around at the sign of peace in church he would be more likely to get a left cross than a handshake.

No need to be a hypocrite and shake his hand. You can thank the Swine flu. No more sign of peace handshake. Don't hit him, either, you might hurt your hand. He had his 3 days of glory at the BET, let him console himself by realizing he is stuck with that SUcks diploma (assuming he has one) FOREVER.

will be watching from Leo's .... let's go Hoyas. ODU has a highly rated defense, so let's see you run the O. They have an ok O, so let's see you shut it down with as stingy a D as you've played all year. Win big!!!

And yeah, I got a little angry, but come on, some of your posters were saying some pretty insulting things as well. Regardless, not trying to start crap, just saying that it should be a good game and it will be fun to enjoy it in person (something I didn't get to do last time). And it looks like I was right about football.
