Is it just me? He looked like he was never sure where he was supposed to be throughout his time on the floor. Is this a permanent condition?

He seemed fine last night to me. Temple on the other hand.

Yeah I thought he was fine yesterday. I'll take a few games where he's a big plus like AU, coupled with games like yesterday's where he is good on the boards and does no harm anywhere else. That's the kind of inconsistency that's understandable. As long as he stays away from games like Temple, he's doing well in my book.

Looked good to me too. I like his development. We're not asking sims to do much scoring here. Defense, rebounds, no turnovers, all come ahead of that.

I didn't think he was lost. Seemed to be in the right place on D but watching Henry off ball wasn't really my focus.

And here we go with the "What is happening with Henry" and "Henry looked lost" threads after every game that he doesn't put up at least 10 and 5...
I think we're getting what we need from him at this point. We need him to be a role player, energy guy off the bench, make good passes, play good D, get rebounds, and score when he can. I'm encouraged by what we've seen from him so far. He's doing what we need him to do, and he will get his time in the sun.

He was fine last night. He played his role with Monroe having a big night. If refs call the game like last night, we'll need all the bodies we have.

Yeah he looked good. I'm completely happy as long as he covers his man, makes some nice entry passes, keeps turnovers down, picks up an insane block or two, and maybe throws down a putback.
We have to remember: JV is a junior. It's only his second year w/ us, but he's a 3 year college player. Next year, I think Sims will absolutely be ready to take over a much more active role on offense. And I think he looks excellent when he and JV are manning the paint. So Sims/JV or Sims/Lubick can be lethal combinations.

Honestly, I think we need to have an minimum IQ requirement for joining this Board.
Thoughts?

Honestly, I think we need to have an minimum IQ requirement for joining this Board. Thoughts? You dream of a utopia, but it will more likely be a Fruitopia. And it will only inspire a rebellion down the road. "Let's make litter out of these literati!" "That's too clever -- you're one of them!"

he was, but he had some very good plays such as a couple rebounds and blocks. not sure princetown is for him, but it'll help him in the future.

Listen I think GrahamFan has a point. Just look at the difference between Hollis and Henry. Hollis Looks sharp, and confident and really has been in the hoya system for what a year to a year and a half. Now take Henry, this is the start of his second year and who is on the floor durning crunch time.... Hollis.
Personally its a stretch to say weve seen a ton of potential out of Henry. He may turn out to be a fantastic 4 y ear athlete but as of this second I dont think hes shown much. Sorry I completely agree with Graham here...

Sorry I completely agree with Graham here... You don't have to SHOW anything to have POTENTIAL. If Henry was dropping 20/10 with six blocks, it wouldn't be potential anymore. Personally, I disagree with both your points, I guess contingent on whatever you mean by "ton" and "much." Henry wasn't out of position on D against Butler, not that I could see. How was he lost on the court -- graham's original comment? More importantly, how would he or Hollis being on the court translate at all to definitely having Henry being lost on the court? There's absolutely no logical connection there. Vee didn't look lost on the court, and he played 1 minute. Just because Hollis played well doesn't mean Henry didn't. Henry had 4 rebounds in 12 minutes, seemed to play D just fine and contributed to the utter inability of Butler to make a shot inside. Is this all because he doesn't shoot? Huh? As for potential, just look at his height/length/athleticism combo, his passing and his shotblocking. Plus his (small sample alert) apparent increase in rebounding ability year over year. You really see no potential in a 6'10" guy who can move, jump, pass well? Really?

I appreciate the responses, but I disagree with his effectiveness on defense. He is a great athlete and most if not all of his defensive plays were him recovering from being out of position. As teams start to understand that he helps no matter what there will be a lot of under the basket passes for layups. This is not a hydra-headed issue this is simply a person whose athletic ability has been able to make marginally effective without a basic understanding of the defensive scheme. When the Big East portion of the schedule begins he better be more in tune or get used to the bench.

As a help defender down low this season, Sims has been downright scary for opponents this year. His offensive production will increase, but for now Julian and Greg are getting it done, and a guy who can come in to spell those guys and erase the paint for the opposition in the process is exactly what the doctor ordered.
