Latest rumor is that he's signing with Cincy any day now Good for the league and comedic value. Riek and Stephenson will make a lethal, if not expensive, combination.

What was disgusting was some article recently about what a crime against humanity that he is being kept from the NBA with the one-year rule. The writer acknowledged his off the court and on the court problems and yet sided with his coaches and hangerons that all of his problems would magically have gone away if he could have been selected as a lottery pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. Why would the NBA want a dude like this? Why would the NBA want someone so entitled that he thinks he can get away with anything offcourt, act indifferent towards school work and behave like a diva on the basketball court? Sending them to the NBA does not help their maturity. It just makes them feel more entitled even if they display that they are not yet ready to go up against pros. And no one is forcing him anywhere. Let him go to Europe, the D League or to his nearest McDonald's for a year. Maybe he'll grow up just a little.
Born Ready my ::bleep::.

Just got word that Stephenson to Cincy is official! Also official: all Cincinnati wins in 2009-10 preemptively voided by the NCAA.

Why not if you're Cincy? He could easily make them legit in the Big East if he's eligible. I now am not looking forward to the Cincy game this year, not that I was anyways since they already beat us without him.

Lance wont help their team at all!!! All the drama that comes with signing him I cant imagine why a team would want him. Please note I am calling it now that he will be a bust. Why do I say that you ask???
Oh b/c his game is predicated on bullying his way to the basket against smaller, weaker hs players. Now that he will matched against players with players of similar size/strength, I cant see him being too effective. I mean his handle is ok, his jumper is average, his shot selection is awful, and his hops are average. He is the Kwame Brown of wings at the hs level. A guy who matured into his body before everyone else and relied on his size/strength to excel.
Just my 0.02. I aint a hoyatalk recruiting guru tho, but mark my words.

Interesting choice by Cronin, who everyone seems to laud for his tireless work ethic. He has Cincy going back in the right direction, I guess he wants to move faster and thought the NCAA scrutiny will be worth the stretch. When your dad is quoted in the Post commenting on the shoe quality of a potential future endorser, and you're still in high school, you can be sure the NCAA amateurism folks will stop by for a visit when you enroll in college.

"He is the Kwame Brown of wings at the hs level." Wow. I seriously couldn't imagine a bigger insult than this. If you prove to be correct, this will be an impressive called shot. If not, well, who will remember anyway?

Cronin's on the hot seat at UC. He's been told he needs to make the NCAA Tournament this season or he's out. Stephenson represents a last gasp opportunity for him - makes sense from both sides.
With Vaughn, Stephenson, and Gates, Cincinnati actually has a pretty good core 3 going into the season next year.

With Vaughn, Stephenson, and Gates, Cincinnati actually has a pretty good core 3 going into the season next year. I guess it makes sense in that it does indeed seem a desperate move by Cronin. I didn't realize that he was in the hot seat (any more than any coach is in the hot seat year-to-year at this level) ... if that's the case I wonder who the Cincy AD/admins think they might get as an upgrade. Because it seems to me Cronin is doing a very good job after taking over a reeling program, a program that had joined the biggest and best conference in college hoops.

I don't know what you're talking about. There won't be too many players similar and size and strength in most backcourts. I wouldn't be surprised if Cincy were to use him the way Memphis used Tyreke last year and put the ball in his hands either because he certainly has the talent to do so. If he were a model citizen and had committed to us, would you think he was going to be a bust? In terms of talent, he's arguably the best in this class next to Wall.
