Same AAU team as Desmond Hubert. Telep's take from Boo:
"Kudos to Kyle Anderson. He’s lost 12 pounds and slimmed up his body. He’s still a unique position player because his skill set is with the ball and his vision."

From Rivals:
"Kyle Anderson (New Jersey Playaz, 2012) - Davis and Myles Mack are good scorers for the Playaz, but the engine that makes the team run is Anderson. At 6-foot-8 and highly skilled, Anderson spends most of the game running the point for the Playaz. His ultimate destination is that of a point- forward type at the next levels.
Anderson has a sublime feel for the game and is a master at changing pace and direction. Despite his average foot speed, he often defends the opposition's top player because of his understanding of how to use his length as a defender.
Anderson is a consistent jump shot away from being an elite prospect in 2012."

From a different Rivals article over the weekend:
"Kyle Anderson lists offers from Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Miami and LaSalle. Kentucky, Kansas, Baylor, Rutgers and St. John's have been calling. Anderson noted that he is most interested in playing in the ACC and will wait till the spring of next year to sign."

I am surprised that we didn't get listed. I don't know the first thing about recruiting but I was under the impression (probably from this board) that we have been on him for a while and were likely on his short list. Didn't he attend one of our midnight madnesses?

Surprised we were not listed as well, rumors had been that JT III was all over this kid early. Perhaps the Jordan Goodman commitment makes Anderson less of a priority?

Anderson must have learned that he needs to put on more weight to play in the BE and couldn't play quite how he wants to, running over nonathletic ACC players ;D

According to ESPN, Anderson's high school, Paterson Catholic, is closing in June. Will be interesting to see where Anderson ends up.

I wouldn't mind Anderson passing to Goodman, to Rak or to Lubick, with Starks or Johnson bringing the ball up. Change the ors to ands in that sentence, and I think we'll all be happy.

Hoyas in top 2 right now? From ZagsBlog:
"Anderson’s stock is on the rise after a summer in which he helped the Playaz secure a top four seed at the Peach Jam. Now college blue bloods are coming to call.
'Kentucky, Syracuse, Louisville, North Carolina are all involved,' Kyle Sr. said.
Asked about Kentucky, Kyle Sr. said, '[John] Calipari communicated to me that he wanted us to come down for a visit in August. We’ll get down to Kentucky for a football game in the fall,' he added.
He added that '[Louisville coach Rick] Pitino said he loves him.'
Still, Anderson said 'North Carolina and Georgetown are probably my favorite schools because those are my first basketballs.'
Anderson will also take an unofficial to DePaul Aug. 5 before the adidas Nations event in Chicago. Miami, Georgetown, La Salle, Virginia Tech and Seton Hall are also involved.
'I’m very proud of what he’s done and how he plays and that he’s a good kid, great kid,' Kyle Sr. said. 'But as far as the recruiting process right now, we’re not looking to do anything. It doesn’t matter who’s involved now. It matters who’s involved next year at this time.'”

From ESPN, Dave Telep's evaluation at Eddie Griffin Challenge:
"Kyle Anderson (North Bergen, N.J./St. Anthony) 2012, SF, 6-7, 210 pounds He is one of the unique high school players in the country, regardless of class. His passing ability and court vision are his signatures, and he was once a point guard. Anderson's grown into a situation where he can check 4's, but play with the ball in his hands facing the bucket in a creator's role on offense. It's this unique skill set that sets him apart. He's exactly the kind of intelligent player a coach recruits, evaluates within the confines of his own team and carves out a role for him based off his personnel. Anderson was Jersey's MVP."

Uk being the leader would seem to be contradictory to what the father has said all along. Secondly, they have been very tight-lipped about everything, so I doubt there is leakage at this point.
