Halftime 9 point game. I guess it's worth watching the 2nd half.

CBS cannot lose the ceiling cam soon enough. What's next, the shot from the mens room? I miss 2007 during our run, when CBS was OBSESSED with showing blimp shots of the exterior of the arenas. I have all of our games on tape, and it's really funny how many times you see the roof of the LJVMC or the CAA. When we went to Atlanta, one of the pics I was determined to get was one of a blimp. Took about five minutes after arrival at the Georgia Dome. As for game two, for me it's really about matchups for Nova and what they decide to do offensively. They've kept it within Hail Mary distance in the second half, but what I was "worried" about for them happened--the matchup is just no good (whereas Duke was the PERFECT matchup for Nova) and Nova became a bad jump shooting team.

I respect his recruiting --Lockdown the local area--somthing the WE at Gtown should do--Become the local Fav!!! Yeah, 'cause we've sucked at getting the local talent lately.

When did Nova morph into Georgetown? That was definitely three point shooting of Hoyaesque proportions. Really, really poor shot selection.
I hope Michigan State wins on Monday, but I'm not holding my breath.

both UConn and Nova morphed into Georgetown in those games. awful shots early in the shot clock. Nova looked rattled by the environment from the start - they just seemed rushed in a lot of their shots and passes.
Also seriously HOW MANY TIMES will psycho T yell "AND 1" during a game? i heard at least 3 times and on none of them did the shot go in. shut up. lets go state.

Ugh i'm really really really hoping that Mich st has improved enough since their last meeting to win. I think they're a much better team now than then, And they will have sutton which they didn't have last game.

It's really hard to not like Tom Izzo when you see him chatting on ESPN.

That turned out about as well as I could have hoped under the circumstances. BE proved that it far and away the best conference, even thoough no BE team are in the final. And both 'Nova and UConn folded big time. No way I could root for them or want to see them with a national champiosnship.
Now, go State! Not a a big fan of the Spartans, but will be rooting for them on Monday.

But UConn late in the game morphed into the anti-GU, as they were trying to go inside and not looking for the 3.

The real question- Does Calhoun retire now? NCAA breathing down his back( which could lead to nothing, or his reputation being ruined), best chance for a while he will have to win his third NCAA Championship, deteriorating health, and already said he will go after the third championship. Third final four enough? Calhoun will use his illness as a defense from media scrutiny of his filthy way of running a program. He'll try to be "Jimmy C" instead of Jimmy V--another low life scumball who used kids and would do anything to get players into school--and didn't care how they ended up as long as they won games on court.

From the pre-game: Tom Izzo, paraphrased closely: When a shot goes up, I want to see everyone hitting someone. And that's exactly what happened.

If Mich St. defeat NC, 3 #1s. First time? May the best team win. The Big East will be back next season, just as strong!

Arizona beat 3 #'1s in 1997: Kansas (Roy Williams), North Carolina (Dean Smith's last season), and Kentucky (Pitino). Michigan State would beat two of the same coaches.
Edit to add: Arizona beat Williams, Smith in his last game, then Pitino. MSU reversed the order and subbed a different HOF coach in the middle, beating Pitino, then Calhoun in what might be his last game, and now facing Williams.

What amazing about Izzo making 5 FFs in nine years is virtually none of his guys are ever NBA standouts. I mean, who's the best out of MSU in the past ten years? Mo Peterson? Zach Randolph (who I think only spent a year there)? Probably Jason Richardson. Year in and year out Izzo just puts together a solid team of solid college players who play great defense, rebound and share the ball on offense - no superstars.
Maybe there's some learning there.

I see what you are saying but look at the tops of the draft classes of his other Final Four years. Lots of guys who didn't go to college. Not the most applicable recruiting model

For the all the talk about how we would feel if it were a UConn-Villanova final, imagine how Maryland feels now, having beaten both Michigan State and North Carolina.
However, in Maryland's case I think it was inconsistency, their trademark of the last few years. In ours, it was a mysterious wall we hit in late December that we never recovered from.
