I read it is between us , Nova and UNC. I love our chances in that field since UNC has not offered him yet. At least I hope they never do.

Watching his video for the first time he looks (physically) like Hollis. Both look more like SU's kind of players (long arms and lean).
Who is better long term Roscoe or Hollis?

I read it is between us , Nova and UNC. I love our chances in that field since UNC has not offered him yet. At least I hope they never do. Assuming you saw this where I saw it, on the MDVarsity message boards. The guy who posted that it was down to those 3 was Smitty, who is a guy who is pretty well connected to the local recruiting scene... has close relationships with a lot of local players, used to be more involved in the AAU scene couple things like that. Smitty also says he's betting on Georgetown. So, that's good. However the post is followed by Can do it saying he'd "take that bet", ie he doesn't think he's going to Georgetown and instead thinks he's going to one of the others (probably UNC who has been rumored to be the favorite in the past). Can do it, if I recall correctly, is the father of Kendall Marshall who is committed to UNC in the 2010 class. He too is pretty connected, Kendall tries to be bff with every good recruit in the country and especially the area, and obviously they have become huge UNC fans since Kendall committed to the heels. Just based on the way he said it and the position he is in, it definitely makes me think that he knows something about Roscoe's preference. Roscoe may never end up getting the unconditional UNC offer, but just based on the scuttlebut I get the feeling that that is our best hope in this--that is to say, I like our chances if he doesn't get a UNC offer but if he does I think he'll go there.

RB
That is where I got it. Seems like UNC has so many wings that he would be lost in the shuffle there.

I tend to agree. However UNC has some sort of magic power over some kids. I don't know what it is, but these days it seems like almost everybody they want they get. Will be interesting to see if Roscoe gets the offer though. If he does, I'm definitely worried. I really do think that Roscoe would be the perfect addition for the Hoyas. If we landed him and one more big guy (now that Riley is out of the picture), we're not going to lose a step over these next few years.

I agree, but i also agree with RB, and would add that Roy Williams has never been shy about running 10 deep and you have to give him credit for being able to placate all that talent by giving everybody minutes.

Not just your opinion RDF. Very debatable who is the best local PG. And these kids still have 2 years of high school ball so there is LOTS of time to develop more. Kendall developed quicker and some of the others have caught up and are passing him. kendall is a solid point with a nice handle but he does not have the end to end speed of Roy's other PGs- ray felton/ty lawson. still, that UNC roster when Kendall gets there will be LOADED and all he will have to do is find the numerous open men.
It will be fun to watch how all the local PGs develop and perform at the next level. IMO we got the best one.

uhhhh, when kendall gets there, unless larry drew's going pro early, he's a back-up for two years. no way is he better than that kid, who's a lot better than i thought. hope kendall's dad doesn't fret about that too much

According to Scout, Roy didn't visit a few weeks because it was a non-visit period (not sure what that period is called), but Roy did go see him play on Saturday. I hope JTIII was there as well.

Roscoe was named boy's athlete of the week by the Bmore Sun this week. Some nice numbers he's been putting up in the first 4 games this season. Roscoe Smith Walbrook, basketball The junior shooting guard-small forward - who isn't so small anymore at 6feet8, 189 pounds - led No. 5 Walbrook to three straight wins last week with a combined 90 points, 18 assists, 41rebounds and 14blocked shots. Ranked No.8 nationally in the ESPN 2010 ratings, Smith is averaging 29 points, 12 rebounds and 4.5 blocks. An honor-roll student with a 3.0 grade-point average, Smith also runs cross country, but it is on the basketball court that he excels. "He just plays," coach Kelvin Bridgers said. "He could play any of the five positions. He gets a lot of double teams, which opens up assist opportunities, and he can score. He's a great three-point shooter." www.baltimoresun.com/sports/highschool/bal-va.boyathlete16dec16,0,119956.story
