I recall seeing a video of Starks and jalen and trying to get Kendricks to commit on the spot. I have confidence that JT3 and staff are doing whatever they can on the recruiting front, but we need to start getting more top-flight commitments again. Hopefully the Hoyas incredible season ending stretch of basketball that starts today will play a key role in that!

Starks are Kendrick are good friends. That would be a nice future backcourt.

Hey, can anyone update me on Starks' success this year? I saw that on Capitol Hoops that he is ranked #3 overall in the area for 2010 above Thornton.

I believe Selby got kicked off the team at DeMatha toward the end of the year. This will be the second school he has left on bad terms.
Also I believe Kendall had some drama with his head coach at O'Connell. He was easily one of the best players in the WCAC but was not even nominated for all conference honors by his own coach.
Expect both guys to most likely end up in different places next year.

RDF i respectfully disagree. i saw a LOT of IAC games this year.. Markel may have been the most talented, but not the best and most dominant player... there is probably a three way tie on who the best was

Kids a stud.

As I said before, when he came back from his knee injury he obviously was not the same player. im am an episcopal guy but both christian webster and given kalipinde were more productive this season to the point where markel got injured and im no the only one who thinks that too.

RDF how many IAC games did you watch this season? Don't mean to be a jerk asking that I'm honestly asking if you saw these kids in person. Anyway I think starks has the most "upside" but don't denigrate Kalipinde just because he's not going to a glamour school. I read a profile of him in the Post and one of the coaches who brought him to the States has LMU connections - a big factor in his early commitment there before the bigs were onto him. Starks will be great for us, but I just think Kalipinde was better this season. Didn't see enough of Webber to opine.

Funny, because when Markel was healthy Prep beat both Episcopal and Landon. And don't say prep has more talent. Where are christian webster and given kalipinde going. This is the usual try and build your guy up by taking shots at the other guy. Sad. 1) Just because your on a better team that does NOT automatically mean you are a better player 2) Prep DOES in fact have the most talent of those three teams 3) Christian Webster won the Maryland Gatorade Player of the Year and he's going to play ball at Harvard.. so its not nice to take shots at him, and in Kalipinde's case he came to the US only last year so he hasnt had the same sort of exposure. Recruiting services only started looking at him 3/4 of the way through his sr year and now hes like the #26 SG in his class. 4) I love Markel's game and I think he'll be a great addition to the team, and if I remember correctly I was one of the first ones that wanted to pursue him since I saw him play during the summer leading up to his sophomore year.. i knew he could play so im not taking shots at him RDF.. I just dont think you can plainly say he is the best player in his league when you have two other top talents like that in the league too.

I just dont think you can plainly say he is the best player in his league when you have two other top talents like that in the league too. The teams in IAC are one man gangs. Starks was dominant player in league when he was healthy. He was winning games in 4th quarter and making big shots/plays the best player is expected to make. Then he got hurt--and Prep wasn't same. All of the sudden Webster is the "best"--or Kalipinde? I'm not saying they are bad players--just saying the season was playing out differently and Starks was doing what the best player on a team/league do--make big plays to win games against opponents. Guy gets hurt and now he's the "3rd best player in league"? Sorry--but going to disagree here. Kalipinde and Webster did the same things for their teams too thats what your not getting. the difference is that prep has someone who can step up when Markel doesnt, thats robert olsen.. landon and episcopal didnt have that luxury this year. I agree with guru.. i dont think youve seen many IAC games have you?? ill leave it at that
