Pretty impressive wingspan... at least 2 1/2" more than the next player.
Graegle, in your opinion, which is it: 6'6 1/2" or Scout's 6'5"?

Well they just measure all these guys yesterday with shoes. So if shoes give a max of an inch, then he is at least 6'5 1/2 w/o shoes. So either way he is a very tall guard and it is legit which is great. Plus those heights on scout were a year ago, so he could have just grown.

www.slamonline.com/online/blogs/school-daze-by-aggrey-sam/2009/06/nba-past-present-and-future/–Jelan Kendrick, 6-6 rising senior wing, Westlake (GA): Kendrick, one of the kids I most eagerly anticipated observing, didn’t disappoint me, as I could see why his savvy decision-making, dynamic ballhandling, court vision, fluidity and ability to both start and finish fast breaks have some billing him as a potential point forward in college. However, while he’s an unselfish and willing passer, I like him better as a scoring swingman, where he can utilize his pull-up J, deceptive athleticism, deep range, pretty floater game, explosive finishing ability, as well as put more emphasis on rebounding, another area in which he excels.

See this is kinda how I would describe him...and why I think the Jalen Rose comparsions are simply because thats the only tall point guard who was a scorer that people can think of....Id say if you genetically mixed the games of Rose and McGrady, You'd get a Kendrick. Like I saw him put 36 in a game last summer up. So he can dominate scoring and it was mostly pull up jumpers off of a herky jerky dribble. But he still was able to hit toguh floaters too once he got into the lane.

Good Scout update on Kendrick today: scouthoops.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=2&c=875309While he wouldn't go into his list of schools, he did offer the following: "While he refuses to speak about specific schools, Kendrick will talk about the process. He says that he’ll likely narrow a list down to five and set up visits in the early Fall. Once he does that, it’s going to be about finding a coach who can prepare him in all aspects of life and a town that really embraces their program wouldn’t be a bad place to end up. “I’d like a coach that is worried about getting me to the next level. Not only in the basketball aspect, but in the business world as well,” Kendrick told Kentucky Sports Report. “I’d like a coach that can give me good teaching points on life. I’d like maybe a college city and a place where they just love their college teams.'"

Another rumor on Scout message board that Kendrick is playing with Memphis Magic for the rest of the summer AAU circuit. Same team as Joe Jackson, Tarik Black and Adonis Thomas.

"I’d like maybe a college city and a place where they just love their college teams." This doesn't really describe DC. I love the Hoyas, you love the Hoyas, but we're so much more than a "college town", with any college team failing to compete with the [Racist Name] pro football franchise, etc, for sports attention.

i like the sounds of this young man, more so than roscoe. each brings a different element to the game, but jalen is more dynamic offensively.
any idea how high up his list we stand? do the hoyas have as good a shot as anyone on the list?

Kendrick at the 5:10 mark

As per scout:
Jelan Kendrick, PG/SF: Big day for him. For starters, we’re promoting him to point guard. Why not? He wants to play that position anyway. We’d love to go point-forward but that’s not an option in the Scout.com database. On the court, his touch is outstanding on the move and he’s great mid-range. Needs to be a money handler and extend his range. Other than that, we’re all in on him.

per rivals:
Kendrick displayed the qualities that have shot him up near the top of the Rivals150 rankings. Playing the point guard position the majority of the time for his squad, Kendrick repeatedly got into the lane and created opportunities for himself and his teammates. Early in the day his shot missed off the back iron, but he was soon dropping in his patented floater. A prolific right handed slasher, Kendrick also went to work with his left hand when defenders forced him that direction.

quote from Jelan as per rivals:
"After my last basketball tournament at the end of July I will probably narrow it down, and make my decision this fall before my basketball season"
