I agree that he should probably be the top priority at this point. I like the kid from Oregon as well.
Roscoe ship has sailed, hopefully JT III & Co. can put the full-court press on Kendrick during the open recruiting season.

Not questioning you, just wondering what happened.

i think graeagle was saying that the ship has not sailed on roscoe. he has always had a time line for his decision and is on course to decide when he is ready. this isn t a lat williams situation.

I was NOT in agreement with Hoyaboya. That symbol represented utter stupid disbelief. The ship has not remotely sailed on Roscoe. Hoyaboya, and others that have no clue what is really going on in GTOWN recruiting always make statements like this.

no, he was saying that the Roscoe ship has sailed, as in, we're not getting roscoe....
I'm with RDF, where's the proof?

From reports here, I get Markel and Kendrick are friends. But how close are they? Is it enough to influence Jelan's choice?

This is basically Jalen's schedule the rest of the summer. There are always scheduling conflicts so these things change. I will also edit my first post that started this thread to include his schedule so it will be easier to find:
June 17-21: NBPA Top 100 Camp, Virginia
June 23-26: Dallas, TX Deron. Williams Skills Academy
July 6-8: Adidas It Takes Five classic, cincinatti OH
JuLY 6-10: Reebok All-American Camp, Philadelphia, PA
July 10-12: Kentucky Hoopfest, Lexington, KY
July 20-24: Nike Super Showcase, Orlando, FL
July 28-31: Price Chopper Classic, Kansas City, MO

What are the odds that he stops by campus while he's in VA?

What are the odds that he stops by campus while he's in VA? Well Kendrick and Terrence have both taken unofficials to the Hilltop before, so a quick jump up I-95 is not a stretch. We will see. I'm sure a lot of that will depend on scheduling. Like Terrence only has a little time before he has to be in Orlando for Vince Carter camp... he would probably take 29 to 66 but i catch your drift!

Blurb per scout:
Jelan Kendrick- After an impressive outing during April at the Real Deal in the Rock, Kendrick was quite impressive on Thursday. Essentially functioning as a point/small forward, the Atlanta product made play after play off of the dribble. Although he’s not as tall as Jalen Rose, Kendrick plays a similar game that is based off playmaking in the lane, knocking down enough jumpers to keep defenders honest and being just a little more athletic than you think he is. At the rate he’s going, Kendrick is going to be awfully tough to keep out of the McDonald’s All-American game.

While I see where they got that comparsion of Jalen Rose from , Kendrick scores alot on pull-up jumpers off the dribble, kinda like McGrady does, like triple threat postion, get space and pull up. In that regard Jalen rose wasnt like that, he hit more floaters in the lane and dribble moves to create space to get to his left hand in the lane. Kendrick does that and also scores off the bounce well. I think he is more elite than Rose at the same stage, though i didnt see Jalen play in high school, I'm thinking freshman Michigan Rose. Kendrick is a SCORER.

Per Northstar:
Kendrick plans on making a fall signing, but will see if he has things narrowed down at summers end/school year begins

Per espn: 4. Several wing prospects are primed to break out
Jelan Kendrick (Atlanta/Westlake) also deserve mention for stellar play. Kendrick is a wing player who is long and athletic and scores it off the bounce. He can even help at point guard if necessary.

Again from Scout:
Kendrick: Look at the 6'5 guard as a right handed Jalen Rose. That's a tall and lengthy guard who can really handle and pass while making just enough jumpers to keep you honest. He is a little right hand dominant, but he's a major talent who has a great shot at making the McDonald's All-American game.
