The key to the rebounding issue is to limit the number of rebounds available by shooting the crap out of the ball. Need big nights from all the guys on the perimeter - shooting 45-50% from 3 - to open up the middle for the cutters.

if the hoyas have anything going for them besides, bc is due to lose, is that the Eagles let teams stay in the game. Gtown has played plenty of close games already to they may pull it out in the end

It is total nonsense that BC's backcourt is horrible. Hinnant and Wallace are very similar players except that Hinnant is a junior. He makes few mistakes, runs the offense and in clutch time, he hits the big three or makes the penetration for Dudley's game winner over Villanova.
Marshall is athletic and a streak shooter. He is continuing to improve and has a number of double-figure games. I prefer Cook, especially after the last two games, but would be happy to have Marshall in our backcourt rotation.
Watson is energetic, a penetrator and push it up guy who can both finish and make foul shots. The ball is always on the edge of his finger tips, but good things often happen when he enters. He is an aggressive defender and tempo changer. Lastly, he is a senior and that matters. Give him DJ's talent or give DJ his passion and you have whole package.
If BC wins, it will be the frontcourt that stands out, but no one is unbeaten with their schedule with a horrendous backcourt. It is good enough.

Holy crapballs - chinatown just made a post about Roy that didnt bash him! What is the world coming to? Next thing you know, Doug Mientkiewicz will hit .300/30/100 for the Mets next year. I know this is OT, but... I doubt he'll reach 30HRs or 100 rbi, but Dougie Baseball will hit .300 next year. Last year was an even number-he's afraid of even numbers. seriously-freaks him out like multiple threads on the same topic freaks out jack or lic's lack of periods freaks out, well, half the posters. If it's an odd year he'll tear it up average wise.

I really feel like we're going to win by 15-20 points on Saturday. Call me crazy...
I think our boys silence a seemingly hostile crowd with good defense and a few choice 3 pointers around ten minutes into the game and BC never makes a game of it.
And I'll be there...loving it.

Since my cousin played for BC in the '60's (under Cousy), this is a family rivalry. He has been hoping to be undefeated in going up against the Hoyas. This would be such a big win for the Hoyas.

ESPN predicts BC as a 2-seed.
Has this to say in their blurb: "Respect for ability to win close game after close game, but burning too many favors before March? Beware G'town on Saturday."

on another note, BCs schedule so far has been weak, and theyhave been beatin mediocre teams by 5 points of less so i think they aer bound to lose soon, and it will bee saturday! im gonna be skiin in colorado though soill stick to ESPN bottomline or try to get interent acess (hell im stayin in a 5 star lodge in Vail, they might have it)

Easy there hoyasox. I think i've been very supportive of Roy's improvement since the debacle that was his first couple BE games. I think he makes the squad much stronger when he is in the lineup. I disagree with GP that BC has a "good backcourt." There is not a single guy in the backcourt who could actually create his own shot. They might be able to hit the occasional open three pointer, but that is a direct result of their big men dominating inside. Shutdown the inside game (shutdown... might be too strong, limit??) and force their guards to create shots and I think we win. I would love to see BC relying on Hinnant to win the game.

Chinatown:
A reasonable disagreement over what constitutes a good backcourt.
I agree that BC's guards do not create their own shots often or very well, though Watson and Marshall have some capability. For the most part, I want guards creating shots for others as Hinnant did for Dudley in the closing seconds of the Villanova game, making shots in the flow and defending and rebounding well. Though Cook can create his own shot occasionally, it is usually a breakdown late in the clock that causes him to do so. Thomas at ND tries to create his own shot too much, Hill at St. John's does so out of necessity, and Ray and Foye can do it best to the team's advantage at Nova.
BC's backcourt is "good" because it knows its role and plays it with a fairly high degree of consistency on a team that draws its strength from its frontcourt. If we collapse too much and give BC's guards a ton of open threes, expect to be punished. That said, match up zones have given BC fits for segments of the game and expect to see a lot of zone from us as we try to change pace and disrupt the machinery of the vaunted "flex"..

Craig Smith will be the key. He is always active and will test Hibberts lower body strength in trying to keep Smith from getting layup position under the basket everytime. He is a lot like Sweetney was for the Hoyas. Once he put his big rump on you, you could not root him out of the lane. Big Roy will have to beat him to the spot. I think JT3 will have to use all of Roy's fouls this game because Green is not strong enough to guard him without fouling him at this point.

We have to win this game. We are 13-5 (I couldn't help compare this and their 13-15 record of last year) right now. Another win and we have a more successful year (in terms of wins) than last year. I am too anxious to wait on this, so why doesn't the team just win their 14th game right away. Besides knocking off the undefeated Eagles would be a nice good-bye for them, as everybody knows.
