Heard Gottlieb's act again last night on ESPNU - talking about the tourney resume of 'nova, said they "would have had a win at Georgetown but for a bad call on a bump with .1 left" - huh, I could have sworn the game was tied, but apparently we were behind at the time.

Nope we were down by 7, and they called 4 technicals against 'Nova sending us to the line for 8 free throws in a game in which Villanova played impeccable basketball and shot 60% in the second half.
That's how Gottleib remembers it, you?

Come on, guys, be fair. We all know Gottlieb did not even watch the game, so don't make it sound like he knows anything about the game. Let him hate. I like playing with the bulls-eye on our backs, from our opponents, from the media, let them hate. Besides, does anyone really want Gottlieb to support Georgetown? i think that would just be weird.

We owe two teams a butt-whupping. Sadly, we can only play one of them on Thursday afternoon.

gottleib supports nobody and if he does they immediately go on a program declining tail-spin. I could care less what that hobbit has to say

seriously, i can't believe how some guys collect a paycheck for their analysis. taken in the context of the game, that call was completely justified and when i hear people question the call, i question their knowledge of the game. funny, i hear no one talk about how that cal guy got tackled by ucla causing the critical turnover which allowed ucla to tie the game.
espn's about 25 minutes from me. i should go egg gotdweeb's car for fun. jeez louise - GIVE IT UP ALREADY!

Hoya50 I think i'm just up the road, i'll join you in Bristol. My only problem is do you think he actually drives a car? His credit and legal problems may still bar him from driving anything more than a bicycle. BTW, are you one of the duelling mascots chasing Rienzo from the Syracuse BET 27 years ago??

after the UL game, pat was interviewed. He referred to people saying 'oh, just another lucky georgetown win".
Sounds like it motivates our guys. So let Gottlieb and Pitino and whoever else wants to keep saying it. We'll just keep winning.

Winning 19 of 23 games that are decided by three points or less turns luck into skill!

Is it bad that I frequently find myself hoping that Doug Gottlieb is the next ESPN employee to pull a Sean Salisbury?

Is it bad that I frequently find myself hoping that Doug Gottlieb is the next ESPN employee to pull a Sean Salisbury? "Just because I wasn't some big-time star in the pros doesn't mean they shouldn't appreciate me more." Man, I'd love to see him go out that way, and soon.

Perhaps even Doug realizes that the scraps he receives to work for ESPN are about the greatest thing a failure at humanity could ever hope for... Quite frankly I find myself hoping that Doug Gottlieb pulls a Doug Gottlieb, and steals the credit cards of his co-anchors. Or perhaps he'll pull another type of Sean Salisbury and show pictures of his genitalia to his coworkers. However, according to Wikipedia, he only got a one week suspension for that. Thus, let's hope for the Gottlieb option.

Can we just turn this thread into a generic "idiot talking heads" thread? If so, here's a tidbit from Andy Glockner's chat today on espn.com:
Andrea Washington, D.C.): Andy, Ladies allowed in this chat or what? I know you haven't been a supporter of Georgetown, but they did lead the conference the entire season. Do you still see them as just a sweet 16 team? I feel their niche on winning close games will help them immensely in the tournament. Thoughts?
Andy Glockner: (12:21 PM ET ) It's funny. The G'town fans think I hate the program when I actually really like it. I covered JTIII when he was at Princeton and he's always been very good to me and has done a great job at G'town. I'm just paid to give honest opinions on teams, and Georgetown's record is better than how the Hoyas have played this season. Fans look at the series of close wins and think "clutch." I look at them and worry about why they're so close and what he underlying implications are. Then again, JTIII won the Ivy League in 2004 this way, so it's not the first time his team has shown this type of resilience. G'town has enough talent to make the Final Four, but the underlying numbers still hint that they are more vulnerable than some teams that will be seeded around them.
