I started a theard callED track recruits, but I only know of one recruit so far. I just found out on a local track board, and I assume the post was directed towards me.
Sac Joaquin Section (CA) super talent Natasha LaBeaud of Folsom (Hour drive from South Tahoe) will be heading to the East Coast and Georgetown! Don't know anything about Natasha yet, but will find out.

Natasha is a miler (or middle distance), which makes sense. Only result I have for her was an indoor mile in about 5:05.

Looks like a pretty good XC, mile-5k recruit. Was 25th at Foot Locker, seems to have some range as well.

Thanks, reformation, for the info. Now if we can persuade the Nevada runner (Mel Lawrence), who was 2nd the last two years at Footlocker as a freshman and sophomore. The coaches should be on her next year.

This guy is a major recruit, seems a bit more like gregorek/trautman than lukezic--lukezic was sub 1:49 800m in hs, this guy is more of a 1500-5k guy, great addition.
Imagine what we could do if we had a track!

Reformation, I agree that he is more of a Trautmann/Gregorek type than a Lukezic. I was just comparing the magnitude of his coming to GU with another recent runner (CL). He is entered in the Arcadia two mile in California in the best field of the year. He might better his 8:49 of last year there.

Nevada - I know from everything I read and when I was at Georgetown a few years ago that we have a very strong track program.
Are there Div I rankings for Track? If so, how do we rank?

Hoya01, we are very strong in the middle distance events from the 800m through the 5000m and this year the 10000m. In the past ten or 15 years we have had some outstanding field eventers - LJ, TJ, and hammer throw, but we are pretty weak in the field events this year. We have been competitive in the past at the conference level (BE), but our lack of track and field facilities is making that almost a thing of the past, as far as expecting to win conference. We still have nationally ranked runners, like Chris Lukezic in the 1500m and Rod Koborsi in the 5000m and 10000m. We won the 4x800m at the Penn Relays last year, which usually is a sign of best in the nation. The women's team almost mirrors the men's team, although the women's team is a bit deeper this year in the sprints and field events than the men. Consequently, the women are ranked 30th in the nation, while the men are in 93rd place. www.trackshark.com/rankings/trackshark_men.pdfwww.trackshark.com/rankings/trackshark_women.pdf

Bumbi was supposed to sign officially today, but I haven't heard yet. Natasha was listed as a recruit, but none others yet.

A couple of more recruits listed for Georgetown, although Bumbi has not been listed yet (which makes me a bit nervous). The following have been certified as GU track and field recruits:
Georgetown Bamigboye, Buky TN University School hurdles Georgetown Labeaud, Natasha CA Folsom distance Georgetown Miller, Levi ME Belfast distance
So if Bumbalough does officially sign (and he was supposed to sign on the 13th, so maybe this site did not get the notice), we will have the Bami and Bumbi show. I will try to get some info on Bami and Miller.

Nevada, I did some checking, Levi Miller was 17th at te Foot Locker Northeast XC, and has won the Maine class B XC meet. Probably not a lot of good comp or weather where he lives, maybe he will get a lift from real comp + better weather.

Thanks for the news, Reformation. I am still trying to find a confirmation that Bumbi signed.

hope so, class will be extremely thin without him--i guess, hope that our recruits are deciding among multiple offers as our pure # of recruits seems to be a lot less than other schools
