Reformation, I'm glad you got Natasha's time and place. I spent all yesterday trying to find it, but it was never posted. Yes, since the Golden West is at her home track, she might improve again.
Bumbi ran his mile in an elite field last night. He went for a sub or close to 4 minute mile, maintaining the right splits through 1000m, but faded and did a 66-67 s last 400m. The results:
1 Famiglietti, Anthony Adidas 3:58.23S 2 Groose, Matthew Wisconsin Runner 4:00.11M 3 Suravicz, A. J. St. Frances 4:00.99M 4 Spencer, Hunter In. I think this time is slightly better than his state meet time, but with more even pacing, he might have gotten down to 4:03. I don't think he is entered in any other races this year.

Sounds good to me about putting a track on the outside on the football field in the MSF, but probably that would take up extra space, which they could not afford.

Yeah, I don't see anyway that's gonna happen, given the space. I don't see why they couldn't put something up again on Kehoe Field, like there used to be. It still sickens me that our nationally-competitive track program does not have even a facility that most HIGH SCHOOLS take for granted.

Re extra space around the msf--i can't say for sure, but it would not be the first time that the admin ignored an obvious solution to a problem-re top of yates i am with 2007 in that i can't see why it couldn't at least be a temporary fix

One yard past each end zone is a fence. However, the MSF was never intended to host a track. Yates is no longer a solution--the roof's surface is no longer capable of supporting a track, and a third of the old Kehoe footprint was converted into North Kehoe Field (where soccer and women's lacrosse plays), so there is no room for a 400m track anymore.

A couple of months ago, I jumped behind the idea of creating an ubercomplex in McDonough that could house underground tennis courts and other such facilities. It probably would be tough to do, but I could see how their might be underground space in the McDonough vicinity to put in an underground track.

DFW, I'm sure youre right re the plans for MSF + Bschool--but these have not been built yet and I'd bet that when they were planned the univ admin thought that the track situation would have already been sorted out--I'd also be surprised if the building plans don't change again

Natasha chopped another four seconds off her time with a 10th place finish at the Golden West meet in Folsom, CA. Not as good as her 10:24 last year, but she was making improvement with each meet.

I just found out that Natasha has had leg injuries, maybe stress fractures, that have kept her from her training her senior season. She would have probably been a pre meet favorite had she not gotten injured this year.

I just found an update on the track and field recruits for the fall. I have to do some research on the ones that haven't been mentioned before, but it looks as if Georgetown is recruiting more than the middle distance runner this year.
Georgetown Bamigboye, Buky TN University School hurdles Georgetown Barrios, Ricky IL Hoffman Estates mid-distance Georgetown Bumbalough, Andrew TN Brentwood Acad distance Georgetown Collins, Kailin MA Mansfield distance Georgetown Gissendanner, Terrell NY Edison hurdles Georgetown Johnson, Keegan NY Longwood jumps Georgetown Krisch, Mike MN Hopkins distance Georgetown Labeaud, Natasha CA Folsom distance Georgetown Mason, Alex AZ Brophy Prep Phoenix distance Georgetown Miller, Levi ME Belfast distance Georgetown Ogrodnick, Avril ONT Beaconsfield mid-distance Georgetown Ogrodnick, Lise ONT Beaconsfield distance Georgetown Okon, Jon PA Hershey jumps Georgetown Osborne, Kyle NJ Morristown throws Georgetown Sullivan, Sonia NJ Manchester hurdles Georgetown Sweeper, Sable NJ Passaic throws Georgetown Tillett, Charlena MD Broadneck sprints Georgetown Whalen, Christine CA Archbishop Mitty distance
Jumps, throws, and hurdles, oh my!

Only one I could find on a quick check is Mike Krisch, who finished second in the 3200m in the Minnesota state meet in 9:07.85.

I was able to check times for most of the list. On the women's side the Avril Ogrodnick, N. Labeaud, C. Whalen have posted very fast times and would probably be considered elite recruits(though the first two were faster as juniors than seniors).
On the mens side Bumbalough is obviously an elite recruit who we would expect an immediate impact from. Other men with decent times would include Brophy at 5k and Kirsch at 2m, though they would have to pick up a fair bit of speed to have any immediate impact.
The large # of hurdlers, jumpers and throwers is a bit puzzling considering the facilities issue.

Thanks for the info, reformation. Yes, isn't that something about the field eventers. Since I didn't find anything about them, they are probably more interested in the GU education. They are probably not the A level competitors as Bumbi and some of the women are.
I hope the frosh will make an impact on the XC team. We have now lost our first two guys (Koborsi and Lukezic), so I think Hower and Debole, if he can be reinstated by the NCAA (I am not sure what kind of process that is) will have to be our go to guys. Tommy Manning is coming back for XC, and he has improved by quite a bit last year, but he is still more of a middle distance runner. Some of the other returning guys will have to step up, like Brian Dalpiaz and Justin Scheid. Dan Nunn exceeded all expectations last year and should continue to play a big role in XC. Koborsi is back for either indoor or outdoor, but not XC. If he and Lukezic were back for XC, we would definitely be top 5, but they aren't.
The women are trying to regroup and get back into the top 15 in XC that they were for years. Looks like they did a fairly good job in recruiting with the twins, Natasha, and Christine.

one thing to note is that the men haven't recruited many top 800m runners in a few years--the 4 x800 will really suffer with lukezic gone early, while the women seem to be making a decent recruiting push in gtwn's trad distance
