You're really going to call KC out on this one? I'd say he was merely responding to the tone established by others. He started the whole thing by saying the original post was stupid. So there.

Going with the name of the thread rather than the theme, anyone else not like sitting Monroe for what I believe was 11 minutes in the first half with two fouls? Who cares if he fouls out if your going to sit him for that long anyway? Monroe ended up only having 3 fouls, and only played 27 minutes. I'm fine with that against most teams, but on a neutral court where the other team has you (arguably) out manned, don't you need to keep your best player on the floor as long as possible? Just my two cents. I also think we took too long to get DaJuan back in after he picked up his 4th foul. Coaches in all sports are overly risk averse, and this is probably the best example in basketball. Most coaches basically choose to foul their own players out of the game by sitting them on the bench for extended periods.

Random aside since the main stuff has been covered - Austin's 3 was off all summer and that seems to have continued through the first 4 games. He's doing well around the basket but we need him to get his jumper going.

I still can't figure out why weak presses give us so much trouble - we waste at least 8 seconds on every possession.
I'd also like to see players (especially Wright) attacking the basket more in the half court - we are wasting his skills if he plays the same way Wallace did.

I thought that Vaughn may have had a brace on his ankle, but couldn't tell. He must have been hurt, since he didn't play.
The bench beyond Clark is iffy, so I hope Julian is back for Old Spice. Starters looked very good. Summers is still frustrating, though - I think it is much more likely he ends up as the 5th best player on the team than as the best.
PS - pretty sure Henry had a big block (not on the dunk where he got called for a foul), but he has none in the boxscore.

To be fair we have no evidence or even rumor that WWW was involved with this.

While I appreciate what Dana has done for MMA he simply isn't professional or mature enough to be the face of the UFC anymore. I really think it's time for him to go - the UFC doesn't need a Vince McMahon.

It seems like this is something personal, so I'll back out. But as I've said, based on my experience most of your charges are not accurate.

I don't get the HoyaReport hate. Ron can be over the top at times but Carlos is always respectful and never gets into these squabbles. If you don't feel the need for the site, don't pay. I and others like the info and stay as members. I have no idea why there needs to be a rivalry. Like I said when those guys actually post factual info then that would be fine. Being correct once every blue moon is laughable. More importantly, the constant bashing of current and future Hoyas is even more laughable. Again when these guys float complete BS, I do not see them or any of their shills coming on this board explaining that... When do they bash current and former players? Ron came onto this board because he's a hothead (and has problems with RDF) and heard that they were being trashed. It would have been better if he didn't. Still, it seems like most of your charges are unfounded, and again, I don't see why people feel the need to create rivalries and act as if they are the end all be all of insiders.

I emailed Barker, and while I don't want to post his exact response, he confirmed that Riley has in fact decided to back out of his commitment.
I know there is a recruiting board and SF has a thread referencing this below, but I think it is important enough to justify it's own thread.

We are potentially looking at 8 scholarship players in 2009, with only 2 ball handler and 2 big guys. Don't seem to be a lot of options at this point but something has to happen.

Everyone needs to grow up with this regards to this whole internet edited my source is better than yours crap. Who cares? As RB said above, if you have info you'd like to share, go for it. If it ends up being right great, if not, it happens.
In any event, the most recent report is that Riley has de-committed.

Dash signed his letter of intent. All is well. Do you know this for a fact (beyond Barker)? Still rumors out there that he hasn't . . .

I don't think anyone else has pointed out yet that Henry Sims and Julian Vaughn are 6'9 and 6'8" at best, though Vaughn has really long arms. I don't know what we'll do against UCONN, but on the other hand I think we might be better off against Nova and Pitt than last year. Henry is actually taller than Monroe, even though someone apparently felt the need to flip their heights. Vaughn is more of a PF though, because he doesn't make up for his height with lots of bulk or leaping ability. Still, for most of the schedule he can play C. One thing I am worried about is a defensive presence when Monroe is out - I thought there was a noticeable dropoff, as Monroe is our only real shotblocking threat. Sims could help there as he gets a little more comfortable. Tonight on offense he basically floated around like a SF. I'm not too high on Omar (luckily hoyalawyer is enthusiastic enough for both of us) but as long as he can hit threes he is serviceable for a few minutes a game. He doesn't have a handle and isn't a great passer, but he plays OK D and is generally a good shooter. I'll count the dumb mistakes (inbounds turnover followed by blocking foul) as jitters. Basically, once we start bringing in subs we can either go three guard (Clark coming in for a F/C), big (Sims or Vaughn coming in for one of the guards or Freeman) or have Wattad/Nikita come in for Freeman/Summers. So far, big seems to be losing out - for one game, at least.
