All of a sudden there appears to be a lot of condensation on the court.

Slightly surreal. Fireworks, the Navy band, and both teams warming up for the second half.

Hoyas in camo uniforms. Sort of looks like all over kente cloth.

Here at the game. Floor appears to be fine. Slight breeze. Florida making a lot of 3s in warm-up. We are really tall

In my 39 years as a Hoya fan, I can't ever remember being this unsure as to what to expect going into a game. I am pretty sure that we will be pretty good this year, maybe very good, but I am concerned that the sheer number of quality teams we will play over the next 25 days has the potential to overwhelm us. Right now I am missing St. Leo.
Perhaps the most interesting facet of tonight's game will be our ability to defend the 3, a statistic in which we led the nation last year. Historically, this has been a statistic with very pronounced variation from year to year, but conceptually at least, our length should make us a very good perimeter defensive team and Florida should present a great test.
Then there is the venue. Game time temperature is now forecast at 51 degrees with 2 mile an hour winds. The local TV coverage with shots of an illuminated court at night is amazing.
I am really happy that I am here to see this.
Go Hoyas!!!!!

I will be at the game with friends and my father, a former naval aviator.
How does the game work logistically? Is it outside on the deck or in a hangar? If it is outside, is the court covered or is there a possibility of a rainout? Could wind be a factor?

The shot off glass that would really help Roy's game is the 10-12 foot face up jump shot like Tim Duncan's. Roy works out quite a bit with Duncan in the summer and I am surprised he has not developed the shot.

Facilities renovation at Providence, below. None of the IAC plans seem to speak as to what to do with McDonough proper, however. tinyurl.com/cg5zd3eThe oral description of the project included renovation of the McDonough team rooms.

What is going on with Jeff? Despite news reports of him signing a long term deal with Boston, he is not listed on the Celtic's roster.

ESPN already had Otto as a top freshman. My guess is that they would say he has already broken out.

Full stat line. Started, 27 minutes (team high), 15 points, 6-12 from the field, 3-7 from three (U.S. only made four threes to Latvia's 12), 6 rebounds (3 offensive), 2 fouls, 1 assist, no turnovers, a steal and a game high two blocks.

No it was not confirmed that this was a Verizon issue, it was asserted as such by the same people who always assert that every negative outcome reflects a Verizon problem. Kentucky is not playing Georgetown because Kentucky was afraid to play Georgetown. Pretty sure it was confirmed. You have a source for your claim? 1.) Show me any sort of confirmation that it was a Verizon issue. 2.) I have multiple sources close to the program who say it was not a Verizon issue. 3.) We have a Friday night date to play Tennessee at Verizon. Kentucky is playing Thursday night at ND. Does that sound like an insurmountable schedule problem?

I thought it was confirmed that UK at Verizon wouldn't happen b/c of Verizon issues. No it was not confirmed that this was a Verizon issue, it was asserted as such by the same people who always assert that every negative outcome reflects a Verizon problem. Kentucky is not playing Georgetown because Kentucky was afraid to play Georgetown.

Roy got a nice compliment from the Miami fans, when they booed the refs when they called a foul on Paul George that would otherwise have been Roy's sixth. They wanted Roy off the floor.
