Paradoxically, I feel that Jesse is going to find the college game liberating. He had 5-6 inches on the competition yesterday, his team was not good at making an entry pass, and the moment that he got the ball he would have 4 guys hacking at the ball and getting away with a lot.
He feels like one of those players who fits really well with other good players.
Another thing that I liked is that late in a close game he wanted the ball on the inbounds pass because he wanted to take the free throws.

I am NOT saying it was a foul, but DSR was hit a lot harder on his made 2 late in the Xavier game that would have tied the game as an and one.

One thing you have to really like is how his body has continued to develop since last summer. He looks like he has dropped 15-20 pounds of baby fat, and his frame is very similar to freshmen Zo and Big Sky Shelton. He needs to put the weight back on as muscle, though, because I fear he will be somewhat over matched as a Big East post without it.

Although this thread would normally belong in the recruiting sub-board, I know that many do not reference it on a daily basis. For those who have not fled New York after last night's Hoya loss - this is not a value judgment as I would normally be in that group - you can watch future Hoya Jesse Govan play today in the New York City PSAL championship game at Madison Square Garden. Although game time has been listed as 11:00 on some sites, I believe that actual game time is 1:00 p.m. as the women's game starts at 11:00. www.psal.org/sports/sport.aspx?spCode=001&flag=All#

It was nice to see Copeland step up after having been MIA offensively for the last 4 and a half games. He's really the key to the post season because he gives us that 3rd offensive weapon that can open up the offense. He really needs to aggressively keep shooting and scoring and take alot of shots. White hitting the key three hopefully that will help his confidence. As far as the alleyoop I thought that was a rookie mistake by White at a key juncture in the game. It was a five point lead with a chance to cut it to three with plenty of time. An alleyoop, especially from that far away is just such a risky play at that point in the game because not connecting is basically a turnover which is what happened. That basically put us back and lost us about 30-45 seconds as it took about that long to bring the score back down to five. I vehemently disagree that the alley-oop represented a rookie mistake by Paul White. DSR huddled with White and Copeland at midcourt before the play, the play was wide open and if the pass is 6 inches lower we probably win and spend the next 20 years talking about the play.

I am pretty sure that the only time we won the BET under III we went to the Final Four. That feels like a pretty strong correlation

Anyone know what that means for us AT&T customers? Will the blackout extend to the regular Fox network? The blackout by UVerse is for selected programming on the Fox Sports networks only. Regular Fox will not be impacted.

I don't agree with that Jerry: Sleepy Duren Michael Jackson Charles Smith Reggie Eric Smith Fred Brown Bill Martin David Wingate Mark Tillmon We had a ton of great players back in the day. Love DSR and he would have held his own with most of those on the list above. Hi SirSaxa So you think all of these guys could rebound as well as DSR?? These are all great players, but I am not sure all of the guards could rebound, guard, block shots, assist, run the team, defend, shoot the three and do all of the things DSR does. For example, was sleepy a great rebounder? The players you mentioned are overall better than DSR, I am just claiming that none of them are as complete. Not a major issue. Just brought it up to create some discussion. Let me answer for Sir Saxa. Sleepy was as good a rebounder as DSR. He was a good enough passer to have a long career as an NBA point guard even though he was a two in college. He is the career Hoya scoring leader without the three point shot and he absolutely would have been the best three point shooter in Hoya history had it been in play during his career. This is a guy who went off for 57 against the Lakers in a playoff game. I love DSR. I think there is a chance tht he could edge his way into the top ten of Thompson Era Hoyas with a big senior year. But Sleepy was as complete and better.

Mikael's 14 rebounds increased his career total to 452, good for 4th all time. Did you miss a keystroke or something Chris? Fixed.

DSR's two made free throws moved him past Jim Barry into 13th place with 329. Next up Michael Jackson with 331.
Mikael's 14 rebounds increased his career total to 452, good for 48th all time.

DePaul 6 9. Marq. 4 10.Creigh. 4 With apologies for pedantry and appreciation for doing the numbers/paying for KenPom, wouldn't the Hoyas end up 4th in the "Favorite wins" scenario given the tiebreakers? It's not pedantry if you are correct about something that matters. The post has been corrected.
