Playing 2 on 5 on the offensive end, not good.

Can anyone on this team stop their dribble without traveling?

I cringe anytime Pickett takes more than three dribbles.

It is really amazing reading these posts. You wonder if they are actual fans of the program. We aren't getting anyone, We shouldn't recruit 5 star guys, just local. Staff is out recruiting their asses off and it is not good enough for some people. It is different times then the 80's and 90's. All the Ewing bashers who blast him on recruiting, coaching will never be happy. He Has not had their fu team since Mac went down, then Yurt, and the team is still in NCAA hunt. SMH This ☝🏿

This is a recent Hopkins game filmed from the opponent's perspective. Walton had 38 in the loss. His first bucket comes at the 3:30 mark. He is a shooter. Several 3s under pressure. Walton is a very talented offensive player and an absolute knock down shooter. I would not classify him as a junk yard dog on the defensive end. If the staff is lucky enough to land him, he is going to have to play with more effort on the defensive end or Coach Ewing might have a quick hook on him. I hear ya regarding his defense...but damn he shoot the rock.

Walton would be a great get. But Coach Ewing needs to pay Murray a home visit also. We need guys that can knock down shots from the outside. Walton will to tough to reel in.

Wahab is another yr. away, imo. We need a Grad transfer C or PF. Qudus isn't ready to be a full time starter due to his foul trouble. Another yr. of backing up, and a breakout Junior season follows. I think Wahab is ready now. The impact he makes on the defensive end (without blocks) is massive compared the last few years (and Yurt). Foul trouble is a bit of concern but he should be the starter and have it written in stone next year. Timmy and Wilson can continue to develop as backups. The addition of any grad C will just stunt the development of those 3, IMO. I would focus our energy elsewhere. Wahabs' foul issues are a major concern for me. That would leave, TI with extended minutes off the bench next year, which would expose him because TI definitely won't be able to contribute valuable minutes until his Junior yr. at least. Wahab backing up an established Center for another yr. would be best for the team and would allow Wahab to progress without the added pressures of starting.

He has that "No One Is In The Building But Me" jump shot. The kid barely hits net, let alone rim, with the D in his face. That release is repeatable and ultra quick. No doubt the kid has a pure jump shot and looks to have great range on it. As mentioned, everyone needs shooters these days. The only thing I get little concerned about from some of the highlights is that he does not seem to be a really quick, explosive athlete. He gets to the rim in his high school games OK, but not sure if he has a another gear that would allow him to play a little faster and still be comfortable. I think he is a big time prospect, but in the back of my mind I am thinking he could be the next Reggie Cameron!! His quickness or lack thereof I noticed also. But he appears to have the ability to create space off the dribble to get his shot off. But your concern is legit.

We have offered Kerwin Walton, roughly same size and similar skill sets. Maybe that is why we haven't offered here yet. Walton and Murray are similar style players sans ranking and offers. Walton will be a tough get, as he has numerous P5 offers. You offer both and except who pops first. Take them both if you are lucky.

The Seton Hall game hilites the need for an elite shooter on this team. If Brandon Murray is an elite shooter, we could definitely use him. And per some video clips I've viewed, he appears to be pretty athletic as well. Sign him up!

The fact that this team can muster 76pts with this line up is incredible. Coach Ewing deserves credit when credit is due. And I say it's due!

The guys played with heart. Just couldn't hit the open shots when needed. They were right there, but Seton Hall is an experienced, tournament bound team; they did not easily fold. Seton Hall is a potential 2 seed who had their star go for 34. Their PG have double digit assists. And their center with 7 blocks. Aka, they played well overall. And a 6 man rotation was in a 4 point game at the under 4. Ewing takes a lot of fair criticism both in-game and due to the current roster scenario, but he also deserves credit for getting every bit of juice out of this current group. Theyre coachable, not playing as much 'me' basketball, and are leaving everything they have on the court. I dont believe in moral victories. And 3-7 in conference doesnt cut it in any level. But if Pat could ever get the right talent mix (his responsibility obviously) then I have certainly seen signs of him having the chops to be a solid head coach. Agreed

We can lament the start of this game, but the Hoyas absolutely left it all out on the court. We kept this competitive without Mac, and I honestly did not think that was possible. We got a decent game from SHU, it is not like they had their B game. We just did not have the bodies to compete with a top 10 team playing a 10 man rotation. This ☝🏿

Yurt7, no effort to block Powells shot, just slide to the side.
