I can probably tell Ewing right now that Steele is going to come out with the bully ball lineup again, but there's no guarantee he will try to adjust accordingly.
Assuming Yurt is still out, I would hope we at least go with an outside-in mentality and try to go down firing. As much as we like trying to get the other team into foul trouble by repeatedly pounding the ball inside, it hasn't caused enough of a dent in the opposing team's depth as of late to continue with a strategy like that.
Also hoping we do not trying to speed up Xavier. This needs to be a rockfight type game in the mid 60s / low 70s for the Hoyas to have a chance, and the only way they are getting there is by limiting possessions and employing a bit of slow burn to avoid fading in the 2nd half.

We'd win this game if we weren't coached by the worst coach in the country *wink wink* (yes I'm leaning into this, it'snot a coincidence the team starting losing when we had the BECOY conversation) hopefully the players can overcome this.
Also, please win this one. Please?

It's the best thing for him to do. And the guys just seem so gassed. It's not going to be easy to play a tough physical game with 6 scholarship guys, one of which was a known project. Just play tough and don't quit. It's all I really could ask for.

At this point I want Ewing so embarrassed and just mad at every BE coach that he wants to kill them now. And we recruit amazing players and he runs up the score and just unapologetically beat people by 50 .... never call off the guys etc
I mean people are just kicking us when down.
Ugh - we have had such bad luck

Keep Tyrique Jones off the glass as much as possible..BOX OUT...keep Scruggs from penetrating and scoring off layups...make them beat us from outside... and, oh yes, stay at least even on the glass and out shoot them...Go Hoyas!

We're dodging a bullet here in that Red Panda performed at Xavier last weekend, our game is sticky wallet night.

Bring your gym shoes to the game. Coach Pat might need to call on Hoya fans for spot minutes when our 3rd stringers and walk ons get into foul trouble

This is a must win to keep any delusion alive. Let's come out strong and play smart. Share the ball and I hope we see some 2 big sets against Xavier.
Go Hoyas

I’m not questioning anyone’s injuries but it just shows how these things aren’t always what they seem. Powell and McKnight go down earlier this year and everyone immediately thought these were long term injuries, yet I think combined they missed like two games. Yurt’s injury didn’t seem that severe and Mac’s we didn’t even see, and here we are going on 3-4 weeks with these guys still not playing.

Re: attendance. The Veterans Ticket Foundation offered up 300 free tix for today's game, which is not a good sign.

White unis today Yurt7 & McClung in suits.
Wilson in a left boot with crutches.
As for attendance, there is a smattering of people in the 400s. Crowd filtering in sloowly as always - student sections fairly full.

Hoyas playing up tempo defense and looking decent, but worried that can't last.
Offense side needs to find rhythm.
