Bumping this, not because I expect an NIT bid, but because it would seem that once the NIT bids are out that there would potentially be news about our participation/non-participation this post-season.

Is there any use in hoping that we'll be better than the 8 seed in the conference tourney?
EDIT: Damn I hope we don't lose to DePaul again in NYC.

When was the last time we held the lead in a game for more than a couple of minutes? Always playing from behind, struggling to get even. So frustrating.

Balamou 3-for-3 going right at Hayes. Really miss having a true shot blocker.
Then nice to see some life from Bradley against Sima. Good hustle.

The front page lists games with Siena and UNC Charlotte as well. Also thought the 2k Classic had another home game component to it before we go to NYC.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=13285Subscriber content, hope this isn't too much - Recruit and return: Georgetown Hoyas Who is added: There is plenty of help on the way with a pair of ESPN 100 recruits and another who could likely crack that list before it’s all said and done. Jessie Govan (No. 65) is the prize of the class. A true center and scoring threat with his back to the basket, he could step right in and have a chance to contend for a starting spot from Day 1. Kaleb Johnson (No. 100), a big and versatile lefty wing, has played his way into the ESPN 100 this season, while Marcus Derrickson, a historically skilled 4-man, is now playing the best basketball of his career after dropping 30 pounds and is an ideal fit in the Hoyas’ system. What it means for next season: Assuming Smith-Rivera returns, which most NBA experts agree he should, Georgetown will retain its primary offensive weapon. The Hoyas are going to need him too since they are otherwise very thin in the backcourt. In fact, don’t be surprised to see John Thompson III go big with his lineup quite a bit next season, potentially moving Peak and Copeland from the 3 and 4 spots they played primarily this season to the 2 and 3 next year to make room for a skilled forward such as White or Reggie Cameron. Tre Campbell could also be a candidate to start in the backcourt, but such a move would leave Georgetown with really no impact guard on the bench. While Govan could potentially start at the 5, don’t be surprised to see Johnson and Derrickson both crack the rotation, as well, since the Hoyas will need Johnson to be ready on the perimeter, and Derrickson is likely going to force his way on the floor.

Pomeroy gives us an 84% chance of winning. Predicted score 80-69.

Sorry for dragging up an old thread, wasn't sure where to put this.
Kent Pavelka @kentpavelka 11m11 minutes ago Not good #Nebrasketball news: Moses Abraham broke his right hand in practice Tues. Coach says he won't play. May be out several weeks.
Husker Sports @huskersports 7m7 minutes ago Moses Abraham broke his 3rd metatarsal. Won't require surgery, or pins. He'll be in the cast at least 2-3 weeks. #Huskers
Nebraska lost tonight without him to Incarnate Word. Second home loss in a row for the pre-season ranked Huskers.

Are you a Huskers fan OmaHoya? Yeah, born and raised in Omaha so it's kind of a requirement. Football for sure, has always been hard to root for the basketball team. Nice to see some hope there.

Apologies to the mods if this is too much pay content.......
ESPN 60 power forward/center Noah Dickerson committed to Georgetown after also considering Florida, Ohio State and Virginia.
Why he committed: "Georgetown has the academics; it's a great private school. I have interest in business and politics, and Georgetown is great for those interests. They do a great job at developing big men. It's big-man university. They make post players better, and I love the coaching staff," Dickerson said.
What he brings: At 6-foot-8, Dickerson is a true low-post player with good hands, touch and footwork. He has lost 30-plus pounds and is down to 232 pounds after tipping the scales at more than 260. Dickerson's new body has made him more explosive. He is a strong, physical post player who can score and rebound. "I bring low-post scoring and rebounding to Georgetown," Dickerson said.
How he fits: The four-star Dickerson, who is from Atlanta but plays at Montverde Academy in Florida, will provide Georgetown coach John Thompson III with a skilled low-post scoring threat in the Princeton-style offense and a dependable rebounder on both ends of the floor. Dickerson's scoring package is so good, at times he might have to be doubled in order to get the ball out of his hands in certain matchups.
Who he reminds us of: The No. 33 overall player in the Class of 2015 reminds us of a slimmed-down Zach Randolph in the way he scores and rebounds.
How the class is shaping up: The Hoyas are beefing up the front line with great size and adding scoring and rebounding. Dickerson joins power forward Marcus Derrickson, who is a four-star performer with tremendous upside.

You're going to like Kevin Kugler. Agreed on Kugler. He lives in Omaha so a decent guess is that he works more Creighton home games, but he is good and a fun listen. Has done a lot of radio broadcasts with Raf and JT II.

Yes. The population here on this board is also looking forward to a big year out of Butler.

Keep in mind that the Creighton basketball fandom is generally a subset of the Cornhusker football fan base. They are known to travel. And they will party.

In the ACC doomsday scenario, why does no one mention Notre Dame? Catholic school, D1 football that wants to stay independent, existing rivalries with the C7, and Fox would see their addition as a huge content add-on.
I recognize they are the BIG's dream, but if the ACC splinters the Big East may look comfortable and familiar.
