We have the 2k Classic in November, at Connecticut in Hartford in late January, and Syracuse at Verizon at some point assuming Gross's firing doesn't affect the agreement. Am I missing anything? That's 4 pretty good games (UConn may stink though).

Forgot about this. Have to believe we'll be one of the 8 they'd want in the inaugural season.

We don't know for sure, but it's impossible to believe that we won't be involved. I think there's 8 teams from each conference, and unless we decline to participate (which seems unlikely) there's no chance we aren't a marquee matchup. It's not completely clear to me whether typical matchups like Marquette / Wisconsin will simply be folded-in or whether those will go on in addition to this. Regardless, I think you can expect to see Georgetown and Maryland on the court together very, very soon. We're going to have (again) an incredible schedule next year.

The front page lists games with Siena and UNC Charlotte as well. Also thought the 2k Classic had another home game component to it before we go to NYC.

Siena is the home game component to the tournament. Forgot about UNC-C. That's a tough return game to play on the road. I wonder if we agreed to do it only if it was at the Bobcats' arena instead of on campus? (I don't know where the game is being played.)

Don't we have two more years in the contract with Kansas? At Kansas 2015-16, here 2016-17?

Don't we have two more years in the contract with Kansas? At Kansas 2015-16, here 2016-17? It takes a year off. But those next two year's schedules are pretty intense too. We have Cuse, Kansas, Uconn, and the Big 10 game in 16-17, as well as Maui (which has UNC, Oregon, Wisconsin, OK State, and UConn, among others). It's hard to imagine anyone in the country with a more difficult schedule. In 17-18, we again have Cuse and Kansas. No other major opponent yet, but we have the Nike tournament, which basically ensures three games against glamour opponents. I suppose it's possible we won't play the Big-10 game in one of those two years (we have to not be in it at some point), and one of those years would be a logical time given the other games on the docket.

Fantastic. Kudos again to the staff for putting together another strong slate. Definitely not your father's Georgetown schedule.

It definitely is a quality schedule and we can see how that impacted our RPI all year. Let's hope the rest of the league keeps their OOC schedule strong as well, as it was clear this year that going into conference play with strong RPIs benefited us all...

I wonder whether the potential of a Duke-Wisconsin rematch means those 2 will definitely meet on the first night of the 2K Classic, leaving us to face Shaka-less VCU, or whether they'd split Duke and Wisconsin in the hopes of drawing that game as the final on night 2. Either way, what a tournament.

Wisconsin will always be solid but they are losing a ton. If Duke loses Jones, then they lose four of their top five. I guess the same is being said about us. Cuse will be young again and with McCullough going pro along with two transfers, there are a lot of question marks there. All good games but I think our toughest might be the Maryland game which is gonna get put together as part of the intro to that big east big ten thing if they know anything about ratings.

Either way, what a tournament. I strongly assume they'll set the matchups however ESPN wants to set them. Since both games for every team are going to be good games, our respective fan bases no doubt will tune in regardless. But no matter how good we are (or VCU is), the only hope ESPN has for the casual fan to tune in (such that there is any hope of this happening) is to heavily hype a national championship rematch. So, I would be shocked if they don't guarantee the matchup on Friday, with our game as the "Metro All-Stars" matchup to the Duke/Wisconson "Capital All-Stars" matchup. The irony is that -- particularly early in the season -- both teams may be shells of themselves (pending late signings, which could be significant, given all the top-end talent still available).
