The front page of ESPN says it all. Pitino to SJU is bigger news than Cooley to GU.

Jack screwed up Mt Vernon, Marriott in Rosslyn, giving Ewing an extension when NO ONE would hire him away, not firing Ewing last year and if it’s true not wanting Pitino!! I always knew he couldn’t see the forest for the trees. But, this is just utter stupidity. The stars are aligned to get a HOF coach and we want to poach a in conference rival’s coach! WTH. I don’t think I’ll ever recover if we screw up yet again.

Just have to rant. Didn’t renew this year because I couldn’t take it anymore. My husband also an alum checked out a few years ago. Sent an email to the Athletic Dept. stating why. No response. Receive an email in Sept stating cc on autopay won’t work. Totally lost it. Asked “don’t you people read emails”. Response. “Can you resend”. Responded with why do I have to do your work, but here goes. Resent basically same email. Response. Crickets. Last week I receive an email from Annual Giving “hey haven’t gotten your usual donation”. REALLY lost it and sent an email. Said GU is so disfunctional we endowed two scholarships at a catholic university in which NO ONE in my family attended much less graduated and stated unless both Jack and Pat leave don’t bother reaching out to us. Surprisingly received a response apologizing. Sad.

Hopefully Butler can continue winning with whoever they hire as a replacement.

A couple of years ago I complained to the ticket office that I wanted different seats or I wouldn't renew. I'm in Sec 112 and when asked why I said I was sick and tired of sitting next to opponents for every game and wasn't going to do it anymore. The entire row would be opponents. I was put on hold and when he came back I was told everything was taken care of and there would no longer be opponents in the seats. I had my doubts. Once the season rolled around, GU fans were in the seat for every game, just never the same people. I asked at one game who was the season ticket holder and was told the seats belonged to the Athletic Dept.

didn't know where to put this, so decided this was as good a place as any. Near the end of the St. Johns/Pitt game Doris Burke mentions the departure of Pitt and Syracuse to the ACC and how everyone knows the real reason was because certain "people" in the ACC were not happy that for the last number of years the Big East was/is considered the best basketball conference. She mentioned that didn't sit too well. The decision was made to go after two schools that had consistent winning programs to beef up the ACC and that's why they went after SU & PItt. Andy Katz then mentioned how SU & Pitt want to move after next season, but refuse to pay more than $5 mil. The AD at Pitt feels the Big East will come around, because if they stay 2 more seasons, it will be too difficult to deal with the new teams as well as SU & Pitt. He feels the Big East will agree to just 1 more season with a $5 mil exit fee.

I got my season ticket package and added 2 seats in the same section and didn't have to pay a premium donation. I'm in the lower bowl. Don't want to make the section publicly known. Seems as if it's a fluid policy.

Just want to add my 2 cents. I have a friend who's son played for Maryland on their basketball team. I won't say what year he "graduated" otherwise you'll figure out who he is. He had enough total credit hours but not enough in any particular major. Go figure. She hadn't been following up assuming that the team had an advisor. So he left after 4 years with a diploma but no major, just a bunch of random courses. Also, my younger daughter was recruited by UVA and went there for a D1 sport. A stellar student who graduated in 3 years summa cum laude. Her first semester there freshman year its mandatory to attend study hall. If you obtain a 3.0 your first semester, study hall is optional. She went one night in the fall and the entire football team was there. She was surprised assuming that the football and basketball players were exempted from this rule. No way. UVA just kicked off Landesberg from their basketball team because of "failure to meet academic expectations". Their star player who probably won't come back and will go pro. There are some schools who do take the role of student athlete seriously.

When I was walking to the entrance by the parking garage I saw this tall skinny kid 6'6 to 6'8 with a Gonzaga basketball jacket walk in the player entrance with two adults (Mom & Dad ?) and a little kid around 10-12 years old. I sit in Sec. 111 and couldn't tell if he was behind the bench.

Two years ago at the end of the season I called Steve Aleva and requested a change in my seats. I sit in Sec. 112 and told him I was sick and tired of going to HOME games and sitting next to opposition fans EVERY game. I said the entire row other than us was opposition fans. He said he would "see what he could do". So I stayed in my seats. Well the last 2 years the row has always been Hoya fans. I asked a guy sitting next to me if he was the season ticket holder and he said no the tickets for the row were from the Athletic Dept. So it is worth it to complain and call out the traitors who sell to opposition fans. Unfortunately, I missed the SU game because I was in New Orleans, but if I was there I definitely would have taken down seat and row numbers and passed the info on to Steve. As someone earlier posted, if we can't go to the games, the seats are either empty or we give our tickets to Hoya fans, we NEVER EVER sell the tickets to opposition fans.

as to your alternate means of acceptance, ups will make a total of 3 attempts to deliver. if no one is home, the package will be held at their distribution center for 5 days during which time you can go there and pickup. i was on the phone for over an hour on friday after they delivered and i wasn't home and insisting that they redeliver the same day. why? because i was going to be out of town from 11/1 to 11/18, by which time the package would be sent back to the sender and I'd have to try some sort of way to get my tickets. i even asked if i called gu and got them to drop the signature requirement would they redeilver and ups said no, once a package is in their system, no changes can be made. good luck.

Michael Graham where are you? I'm sick and tired of us losing a game by getting kicked around. Defense wins games and championships. I wish we had players from Pops era like Ewing, Graham, etc. when they never let anyone push them around.

Thanks FL for the props on my sign "Geaux Greg". As a fellow New Orleanian I just wanted Greg to feel some hometown love. But, I can't tell you the number of people who asked me what the sign meant.

Has Esh been hired by anyone to coach D1 basketball? I rest my case. If he was "good" someone, somewhere would have given him a shot after G'Town.

thanks for the list . we've had 2 season tickets in sec. 112 for 5 years. this summer I called the ticket office and complained. why? the ENTIRE REST OF THE ROW FOR EVERY home game has always been the opposition. I asked if season ticket holders owned the seats and was told yes. I said I was tired of going to HOME games and feeling as if I was at an AWAY game. It was insulting to have WVU fans sit there and curse me out. Well, this year, so far everyone who has been there have been Hoya fans. At the Cincy game I asked the guy next to me if he bought the tickets off STubHub. He said no, he got them from the Hoop Club. I doubt if my call made the difference, but I'm happy to sit next to fellow Hoyas.

this is my first post and it regards using the jumbotron. at the uva football games, just before the teams come out , on their jumbotron they have "cavalier man"on horseback in a video skit destroying the other teams mascot. for example, for the florida state game, cavalier man met up with chief seminole and stabbed him to death. the video shows cav man riding across campus on the way to the stadium and then someone in cavalier man's outfit on a horse rides into scott stadium with the cheerleadrers, someone holding a uva flag and then the players enter. by this time the crowd is going absolutely wild. if we could do a video with mascot dog winning over the other team's mascot and then the cheerleaders comein with our big flag, you'd have the crowd on their feet going wild. just a suggestion
