High Life is vastly superior to Budweiser. It's the champagne of beers, what's not to like? Personally I find it odd that people wax nostalgic about the high life, when it was only a replacement to the sweet sweet busch. Normally I'd comment on the budweiser debate (it sux), but I can't in this instance since I don't believe I've ever ordered anything other than the cheapest pitcher they were serving.

Nothing can compare to the sweet aroma and smooth finish of bud diesel.
I've got some in the fridge in my cellar, next to the popsicles.

I had the Gerald Riley - it takes a long time to get to your table and usually your very disappointed in it - but once every 10 times you come to the Tombs it is incredible. hahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahaha good one!

Back for my 15th reunion this weekend I ordered "The McDonald's Special," a Tombs Burger with Michael Tate-r-tots. Great burger, but the Tate-r-tots were awful so I sent them back. The waiter returned with the Fries a la Venson, different name, but left the same bad taste.
I love McDonald's fries. McDonald's fries have been a lifelong friend of mine. These were no McDonald's fries.

High Life is vastly superior to Budweiser. As someone who went to High School within 5 blocks of the Miller Brewery, I can certify this statement as fact.

How about your current home (or place of work)? Anywhere near the Sam Adams Brewery? And how does that compare the other brews you mentioned? BTW, Miller High Life has had some of THE worst commercials over the years.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Luckily I live nowhere near the brewery - they smell awful! No argument on the advertising.

I couldn't disagree more about High Life. Maybe High Life was fun to drink while in school (many current Tomb's patrons would probably say the same about Busch light), maybe it was the cause of countless college hijnix, but in no way does it measure up to Bud, the undesputed king of beer.

I prefer Busch and High Life to Bud, but I haven't had any of them in years. Once I got a job, I started drinking good beer. I don't think anything named here actually applies.

You've never lived until you've taken part in a Yuengling keg race. Now there's a beer to feel good about both drinking and pouring on the heads of other participants.

How about the Joe Tuomou Defense Sandwich, which is all sizzle and no steak?

I've tried that Tuoumou sandwich as well - for some reason it seemed to sit in my mouth moving from cheek to cheek, but never actually got down my esophagus and into my stomach.

Perhaps you didn't hear George Clooney the last time he said: "This is the famous Budweiser beer. We know of no brand produced by any other brewer which costs so much to brew and age. Our exclusive Beechwood Aging produces a taste, a smoothness and a drinkability you will find in no other beer at any price." What about that statement do you not understand?

I went in yesterday and ordered the Jeff Green special. First they told me they were all out. Then they brought one out to me. However, before I could take a bite, they took it back from me.
I got tired of waiting and ordered a Don Reid sandwich. Nothing spectacular but surprisingly fulfilling (the last bite is always the best).

I just tried to order the Mu"Tomb"o special again - and this time the waitress just waved some chicken fingers in my face.

Years ago, I would order the Chicken #21 - a truly great all-around sandwich that always hit the spot. It filled me up so much that I would get sleepy.

My votes for the battle of low-budget beers: 1. High Life - only with the Champagne can you make the infamous Dakota Mimosa
2. Busch Lite - great ads (the surfing/Simple Man ad is so me), great cheapo at the Tombs
3. Coors Lite - the Bullet: does anything go better with beer league law school softball?
4. Keystone Light - for years, the cheapest beer at Wisey's. The 11:45pm pre-closing Key Lite rush was crucial before that 10:00pm law went into effect.
5. 40s - you really just can't beat the value. Plus, brownbaggin' it with my roommate on my front stoop on N St. with "Pornosonic" blaring in the background during Parents Weekend my senior year is an all-time favorite GU memory.

Since I haven't seen JohnJacquesLayup add in another low budget beer, I'll bring up Natty Boh.
