Did Feinstein leave the Meadowlands early to avoid possibly having to write about us? I can't find anything on the WaPo website from him addressing yesterday's game. Maybe he's preparing a story about the UNC mascot?
[UPDATE: He has submitted a piece on the Hoyas and the Final Four this afternoon. See the link further down this thread]

Was just going to post the same. I just spent the last 20 minutes scouring the WaPo website looking for an article from Feinstein. Steinberg mentioned that he was there in his blog, but that's it.

Openly weeping is what he's doing...
This is his worst nightmare.
We are the only team he has less than zero access to and it's embarressing to him that he can't even write an article about a final four team.
He's out of material. He's already written about Florida and Ohio St. He'll do a UCLA article and then he's finished.

Did he write anything after Friday night's game? Wouldn't it be shameful if WaPo lets him refrain from having to do his job if Gtown wins?

Someone at American has a toothache and played a pickup game--so that will be feature article, followed by an officer at Navy having diarrhea after playing fooseball, and then you can't leave out the "feel good story" of some walk on underwater basket weaver at WG finding his calling as he was watching an instructional video on the WE network.

Be prepared for a story on the lack of a Cinderella meshed with the NBA 1 year rule effect / Florida team staying to win it again and how this is wonderful for CBB. He'll go big picture with whatever he has because he knows he doesn't want / can't write a Hoyas article.

I heard an unconfirmed report that he was seen violently retching into a trash can after the Hoyas all went over to hug Big John after the win.

BUM left early for a good reason.
He had to get back to College Park to talk Gary Williams down off the ledge.
Dammit, though, all the UMCP fans in my office have been overwhelmingly gracious about the Hoya win. I HATE that!! Completely takes away from all the gloating I was planning for today.

Clearly a well-researched piece....
"He left a semi-empty cupboard and by the time Esherick began to refill it five years later by recruiting the three juniors who are the heart of this team -- Jeff Green, Roy Hibbert and Jonathan Wallace -- his job was in serious jeopardy."
This is up there with his "they didn't make the BET during Esherick's last season." (that's in the article too) He actually said that BET line again this morning when he was on NPR. I know NPR takes corrections and read them on the air... that would be a good one to send in.

It's about as good as we can expect from =BUM. He says some nice things about JTIII and the current team, while taking some shots at JT2. Oh well, at least he is starting to recognize that there is a difference.

There he goes again - we didn't make the Big East Tourney in 2004? Could have sworn we lost to BC in the first round, but I could have been at a different game. Did Esh really recruit Jonnie Wallace?

No, Esh didn't recruit JW. How can anyone not know that JW was going to Princeton, and then followed JTIII to GU and walked on.
Someone tell Jim Rome that this guy shouldn't be in his Top 5 Smartest Sports People.

From the WaPost itself...
Hoyas Exit Quickly With 9th Straight Loss After 30 Years, No Postseason For Georgetown [FINAL Edition] The Washington Post - Washington, D.C. Author: Camille Powell Date: Mar 11, 2004 Start Page: D.07 Section: SPORTS Document Types: News Text Word Count: 746 -- Georgetown's season ended here Wednesday afternoon, inside a half-empty Madison Square Garden, in the silver anniversary edition of a tournament that the Hoyas once dominated and helped define. Georgetown made a quiet exit, losing to Boston College, 68-57, in the first round of the Big East tournament.
So, for the first time in 30 years, Georgetown will not be invited to a postseason tournament. The Hoyas finished with a 13-15 overall record, their fewest number of wins since 1973-74, when they posted a 13-13 record and did not qualify for the postseason in John Thompson's second year as head coach.
Georgetown trailed at halftime, 27-22, but scored two quick baskets at the start of the second half to get within one. Boston College eventually pushed the lead back up to nine, but an 8-0 run by the Hoyas (three-pointers from Brandon Bowman and Ashanti Cook and two free throws by [Matt Causey]) whittled it back down to one, 40-39, with 12 minutes 11 seconds to play.

WOOOPS!! This dude is amazing. With that sentence he not only put the entire onus on JTII for the collapse of the program in the late nineties, but tried to take away from JTIII's success by saying Esherick recruited his stars. The BUM needs to grow up!

You know how they always say getting mad and firing off an email (or in this case a WaPo comment) won't make situation any better. In this case I believe they are wrong, I for one feel much better.
