Anyone else notice that Sapp was the leading rebounder for the team with 7?
That is scary.

Winning by eight means we've now covered the spread in every game of the streak except the two versus Cincinnati (one push). Vegas should keep loving us.

One of the things i was pointing out to my cousin on the way back from the game, is that last year i thought we could never come back from being down, but this year, JT3 has amazed me in his coaching. It also has to do that we can also pick up the speed from the traditional motion offense and score quick basket and play tight d and make a come back from 8 down. I don't get phased when we are down..
Also great coaching on JT3 part to end the half. Putting macklin in on the defensive plays and subbing hibbert in for offense plays so he doesn't pick up his third foul. Great coaching that the esh never really got. JT3 is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PEjr also brings so much energy to the game. I think he gets jeff riled up and that makes him explode. Great play on the Hoyas against a very good Defense that Pitt played.
The only thing that ticked me off was two rows in front of my in section 103, some a-hole sold his tickets to a Pitt fan that didn't know when to shut up.

Wow. Wow. Wow.
I was at the game and agree 100% with Highsmith's analysis.
The atmosphere was really big-time, too. The crowd was basically on its feet for the last five minutes. Only real downer on that count was some complete bozo at halftime who was featured in a charity thing at center court and shouted Go Pitt! at the end of his speech. What a jerk, and he certainly destroyed whatever goodwill he had otherwise generated for his cause (organ donors).
Great win in an amazingly tight game.

HOYA SAXA!!!!
Another really gutsy win by our guys. On the wrong end of a 13-0 run and down by 8, they went into lockdown and fought their way back into it. In the last 11:56 of the game we out-scored them 25-9. Tough performances like that when it counts will take us a long way.
JWall had an amazing game - steals, drives, and some clutch free-throw shooting. A bit too many turnovers, but on the whole a great performance. Ewing also had a superb game, despite what the score sheet says. He drew charge out near half-court during our fight back that was absolutely huge. His emotion then and through the whole game made a big difference today. It's great to have him on the team.
The Phone Booth was absoltuely rocking for the last 10+ minutes. At times I think it was actually louder than the Duke game last year - great atmosphere!

how GREAT is jeff? in that second half, he made 5 plays that were critical to this win:
1. the 3 point play on kendall.
2. takes a bump from kendall but still makes the shot.
3. the late-in-the-shot-clock 3 point miss and follow.
4. the backdoor pass to sapp.
5. the steal where he beats 2 panthers and somehow finds sapp 50 feet away for the layup while falling out of bounds - THE PLAY OF THE YEAR!!!!
he is a special player and i feel lucky to be able to root for him.
a fantastic win today. pitt is tough, and the hoyas out-toughed the panthers today.
BEAT THE ORANGE!

Ok. So, some of this stuff might have been posted before but I'll give credit where its due:
1) Hoya Blue, best cheer sheet of the year, IMHO. 2) The Hoya/Hoya Blue - thanks for bringing the papers back. 3) Non-Student Fans - brought the A game today. 4) Roy, Jeff, Wallace (a.k.a Mr. Clutch), Jessie, DaJuan, Vernon, Jeremiah, Patrick, and the rest of the team and JTIII and his staff - you made us all very proud to be Hoyas today.
5) The only thing better than beating Pitt is beating Cuse in the Dome ...

Play of the game: Jeff's backdoor pass to Sapp - score was tied at 49, from there we pulled away. The kid is such a special player - he can beat you in so, so many ways. That was followed up by a FANTASTIC steal and layup by Wallace - just great clutch play by those guys.
This was a great win on the level of Duke last season. So great to be a Hoya fan right now!

I've been on the road all day (hello Bay Area Hoyas - I am back!) and just heard about the game. Looks like we won it with our wonderful FT% defense. Margin of victory between shooting 100% and 50% for the Pitt Panters!

Fun game. Two VERY good teams slugging it out- this was a heavyweight bout between 2 championship calibre teams.
Bring on the Orange.

AMAZING! 11 wins in a row, and now we can be on our way to a #2 seed in the NCAA Tourney! GO HOYAS!First things first, congrats on another big win! I didn't see the end of the game since I was between work and our baseball game, but I did see the final score during our less than impressive "poorformance." As far as seedings go, we now have 4 losses to your 5, with tough regular season games to go. I think you might be selling yourself a bit short to be "hoping/shooting" for a #2 seed. I saw all of the first half of your game and much of the second. What jumped out to me on the positive side was holding Pitt to a very low shooting percentage. At half-time I think it was about 30%. On the negative side, their bench had outscored you 17-2. That meant that 17 of 26 points had come from their bench ... an even more surprising stat given that Pitt was supposedly missing one of their main guys. Still, that was a very solid effort and one worthy of praise.

Their best player came off hte bench and accounted for a portion of that bench scoring stat.

hoya, I didn't have any audio going ... was that the "Grey" (Gray?) guy who supposedly wasn't playing?
I know very little about Pitt's team, so nothing jumped out to me at the time during the game. But that 17-2 stat sure did when I saw it.

Yes, that was Aaron Gray. He played about 20 minutes which is about 8-9 minutes less than his average.
