that is bad if in fact they did run out of metro cards that's pretty unacceptable but yes this is all the athletic department HB had nothing to do with it.

I agree that this isn't malicious in anyway it is just something I noticed and wanted to know if there was any info on it. I just noticed that I wanted to go to the Towson game, but I am already out of metro passes. I also was planning on coming back early for the Notre Dame and Villanova games and was wondering if I would receive passes for those in time to use them.

That was enough for every game that we have at the Verizon Center while school is in session this semester (I wouldn't count Towson since school really ends that morning or afternoon or whatever and most people aren't gonna be here) plus the Nova game. I dunno if the school messed up the metro cards for everyone else and if they did, that stinks, but I think they meant to give out six per student. I also remember reading somewhere that you can pick up tickets to the games at McDonough for during break. I bet if you go they'd give you a metro pass when you pick up the ticket. I don't know though.

To be honest, I thought the whole metro system was going to be a disaster when it was announced, and after the first game, but it has since improved. Although there has been serious lack of communication by the AD/HB on certain issues (when to pick up passes, where to grab bus after games, ect), as people have become accustomed to the system, it has become easier and slightly quicker. That being said, it still takes significantly longer to get to the Arena when compared to last year, and i still think there is a significant amount of students who choose to stay home for certain games because of the transporation system.

Regarding the lack of metro passes: I didn't return to the ticket box office until right before the Ball St. game, but when I showed up they checked my name off and handed me my metro passes. Not sure who said they ran out, but they were still available after Thanksgiving.
Regarding the lack of advertising: I will take partial responsibility for the lack of communication about the buses, as I didn't even understand the whole system at first. I too ended up at DuPont one evening, along with a few hundred of my closest friends, wondering where the shuttles were. However, after that mishap, I have put a reminder on every cheer sheet saying, "Buses run from Rosslyn."
Then again, I might not be one to talk....I walk to metro center after every game and usually make it home within the half hour of the final buzzer. (Some days even quicker if we're racing......)

I actually kind of like the new system. So far this year it has provided us with CAHoya07 leading a crowd of followers all the way to the national archives while in search of metro center, Bridget tugging at 007's backpack to keep him from playing in traffic en route to metro center after the Oregon loss, and several great footraces with the previously mentioned 007 up the rosslyn escalator after games. Not to mention the "oh s*** it's college kids" look that people on the metro get when a big group of us hop onto the train.
Assuming the Athletic Dept comes through with 2nd semester metro passes like they did for all/most of us this semester- I have no complaints whatsoever.

Any mode of transport to Verizon is far better than the Cap Center.

We don't take too kindly to that kind of stuff here.

I am interested in how YB got to the game. How long does it take a horse and buggy to get to DC from Spottsylvania? YB moves further south every year. I thought he was in North Carolina by now.

What is up with the bitchin and moaning about taking the Metro? You sound weak and spoiled. Why don't you girls just march to Verizon like real men? This thread is an embarassment to all fans.
