The Student Loan portfolio could easily be transferred to and administered by the Treasury Department. The Loan portfolio actually makes up over 80% of the Department's activity and the Department has been accurately described as a large bank.

As the great Ronald Reagan said "facts are stubborn things."

When I start to despair at all the suffering at the hands of Trump the next four years, I will remind myself that a large portion, perhaps even a majority of the people suffering, will have voted for Trump. They voted for their own suffering either through ignorance, hatred, or out of being generally gullible. It will certainly be cold comfort, but hopefully it will make these people more aware of the harm they caused. It seems like a lot of the people who even reluctantly voted for him thought “sure, he will cause people to suffer, but at least it won’t be me”. Eventually, with someone like Trump, it will invariably be them too. For their complete lack of empathy and sympathy, it’s difficult for me to believe anything other than they are the ones who deserve it most of all.

As the great Ronald Reagan said "facts are stubborn things." What would be the point of killing the department and maintaining 80% of its remit? The fact that the loans make up such a big percentage of its portfolio strongly suggests that the loans are exactly what is targeted.

When is musk getting a security clearance? Seems like they’re afraid of leaving him unsupervised.
