This guy is even worse and will ruin NIH. He was part of the nonsense brigade Trump listened to for COVID pandemic advice.

Some people think being drunk doubles as a get out of jail free card. What would make it more convincing is if Hegseth puked all over himself. So tell us, Pete, did you? Every day a new low with these nominees.

Every day a new low with these nominees. It's only going to get worse and that's what the people voted for. I've, personally, arrived at acceptance. Acceptance that I was wildly wrong to feel more hopeful about where the majority of us are with regard to women and racism in 2024. I've been wrong many, many times in my life so admitting that isn't difficult. But, it is incredibly disappointing. That said, the "Republicans" got exactly what they wanted and now it's all on them. There is no credible way to blame the coming failings on the Dems. Though their base, generally, isn't very bright and will, very clearly, buy any BS excuse that lets them not take any blame. My only remaining hope is that, when the inevitable damage is done, that some of the millions of prospective voters who couldn't be bothered to exercise their right to do so this year will show up for 28.

You are spot on. In an election where “Our Democracy” was on the ballot against an “existential threat”, 8 million Biden voters didn’t care enough to vote. Spend some time with why.

Great time to shutter the Office of Pandemic Preparedness and install crackpot anti-science lunatics at HHS, NIH, CDC. What could possibly go wrong.
America, you chose this.

There is no great "why." People have been conditioned to believe that their vote doesn't matter. Citizens United has done that to us. The Supreme Court of the past fifteen years has become a paid operative of the Republican Party. Even longer, when you consider Bush v Gore. There's also the fact that the Democratic Party is no longer seen as the party of peace. Obama's drones and Biden with Gaza have done that to us. Voting for genocide is a bridge too far for many. And BTW, yes I voted.

I hate this line of “reasoning” (from the OP). You can “shake things up” without putting the most extreme, unhinged people in charge. If you want your house to look different, you can do a million different things to change it up. You don’t need to burn it down first.

Is it possible that Trump has nominated RFK knowing full well has has no shot at confirmation?
Thus he rewards a supporter at no real cost.

Many of his first 4 may fall into that category - the problem is that the 'replacements' stand a better than even chance of being worse.

This drives me insane. Biden should pardon Hunter. Come on, Republicans, that's way worse than this, right?
