Aug. 31, Cooper Field. Not updated yet on GUHoyas.com, but it is on the schedule for ESPN+.
As of now, the game at Sacred Heart (9/14) is the only game not scheduled to be televised on ESPN+, but on SNY. SNY is available only in southern NY, CT, and parts of NJ and PA.

Hoyas are favored by 6.5. I'd take those odds.

We can win this if we can just stop Steph Curry from going off.

Plenty to work on, including continuing special teams challenges. But nice to see the team take care of business comfortably, especially against a non-Marist opponent.

The Official GUHoyas.com game box score has been published with a disappointing opening day official Attendance of: 0.
I presume this will be the official attendance figure carried nationally now?
They got the temperature and the wind direction right tho!
Well done Sports Info team! Must be really hard to catch a big fat zero before you publish the official box score. This is a depressingly familiar sight btw.
It really feels like nobody cares…or is paying attention.
Just friggen make a number up next time.

Is there any reason to think a Davidson is any better than a Marist? Or a Sacred heart? Honest question. Feel like the first 3 games of this season are all “Should Wins” for a PL team. I think that is being pretty modest.

Gotcha. I frankly think whatever fanbase this team has left (beyond current parents) treats these early season tilts vs Davidson or Marist or Sacred Heart as scrimmages that only carry downside risk in that a loss would be embarrassing but not super surprising either. There isn’t a lick of difference between those 3 programs imo.
And a win of course….means next to nothing.
The announced attendance was about the only interesting thing to take away from yesterday’s game at our new stadium. Unfortunately we’re not great at the little things either as an Athletic Dept.
Using these games that nobody cares about as building blocks to future success…if that is the idea….has not worked for us yet this century but not from a lack of trying.
But i also understand you can only schedule so many FCS programs and Sgarlata is doing this without schollies in a schollie league.
